I read many reviews about this product and I was concerned that it was too good to be true. I mixed the solution for 2 oz of concentrated solution to 1 quart of water in a spray bottle and I saturated the area of my carpet that had the cat urine. I used my fingers to scrub the solution into the carpet. The odour disappeared almost immediately! I really couldn't believe it. The soap smells like clean laundry and that's all I could smell. I was on my hands and knees with my nose right to the carpet and that's all I could smell. The carpet is dry now and the odour is gone.

This stuff is amazing. Unfortunately I have a cat that occasionally likes to use the restroom on my beautiful hardwood floors for some reason that I have yet to figure out. I have tried so many cat urine cleaning products that claim to use enzymes to remove the smell, none have worked as well as SUN. (I don't believe SUN is an enzymatic cleaner, I could be wrong) One in particular that I used to use was Nature's Miracle - Just for Cats. Wish that had worked because I bought a 2 gallon jug of it. This cleaner, to me smells like urine and therefore makes my house smell like urine until it completely dries, and sometimes my cat will urinate on the same area after using it. I can't stand the smell of it. I was happy when I opened SUN for the first time, it smells great, a very clean smell. Here is my magic method that has taken me over a year to come up with, the only thing that works for me. Also note that I have the tried the same method with other cleaners, and SUN is the key to it working for me. Like I said, I have hardwood floors and this product does not damage them. Using a paper towel I dry the urine up completely. Then I lay dry paper towels over the entire area where there was urine. After mixing my SUN solution up (I make it strong using less water) I pour it all over the paper towels until they are completely saturated with the solution. I have an oscillating fan that I put on the floor and point toward the wet paper towels. I leave it there all day or until they are dry. Once dry, I discard the dried paper towels, then I lay more dry paper towels down and I repeat the whole process one more time. Well- la, that's it. Every now and then I will spray some more SUN solution to that area and wipe it down just to keep up with it. This really works for me. Trust me, I have been to the point where I was in tears and spending tons of money to try and fix the problem. Since the reason my cat does this is behavioral and there isn't a medical reason why she does it (as said by my vet after running several tests, food changes, new litter boxes, calming collars, calming spray, and the list goes on), I keep at least one of these bottles handy at all times in case there is another occurrence. Anyone who has dealt with cat urine issues (and really loves their cat, like I do) knows the frustration that goes comes along with it. Why do our furry loved ones do this to us? Since we may not ever know the answer, at least we have SUN to clean it up in the meantime. Not only does SUN smell great (not like urine at all) my cat does not urinate on the same spot again after it has completely dried and I have completed my "method. I wrote this review on my accord and made it so detailed because I know there someone out there who is at their breaking point and needs try something new. For only 7.99, you have to try this stuff! My only compliant... please make a bigger bottle!

For many pet owners, urine is the enemy, the smell just never comes out! Even though it's messy, I would almost rather have my dogs have diarrhea in the house than pee on the floor. The stink of urine lingers and just will NOT go away. Diarrhea is awful, but a good scrubbing later, I can pretend it never happened. I foster for a local rescue, so I get all kinds of dogs through my house. Some old, some young, but most of them poorly trained. Which sadly translates into lots of potty messes. Before we found SUN I tried every product on the market. I bought everything on the shelf at Petsmart and Petco, I ordered stuff online (I don't want to add product names, I think it would be in bad taste), basically tried everything! I even watched videos for DIY odor removal and spent hours on my hands and knees with peroxide and dish soap and a scrub brush. Some of it helped, some of it didn't. But most of it only masked the odor, it didn't get rid of it. I have a very sensitive nose, so just covering up a smell wasn't good enough for me. I wanted it GONE! Finally, in desperation, I searched for severe urine removal, and the SUN products popped up. I figured, I've tried everything else, what the heck? I ordered it, tried it on a single spot, and almost cried in my relief. This stuff WORKS! Truly works. It does leave behind a pleasant mild scent so I gave it a few days before I was really convinced that it wasn't just masking the odor. I think what I really was impressed with is when I sprayed it on (I diluted in a spray bottle for convenience), I could see where it would react with the urine. It made it easy to find a spot if I wasn't really sure where it was. I would spray an area and the spots that had a reaction (it kind of foams a little) I would concentrate on. I called the company after using this product for a while because I needed them again. My son had crawled into my husbands arm chair and got sick right in the crack. The whole chair REEKED! So I asked them if they had something that worked as well on vomit stink because this chair was about to hit the curb. He said, SUN works on that too. Really! So I used it on the "vomit chair", and my husband is in that chair at this very moment watching TV, vomit stink just a bad memory. If I had any doubts whatsoever about this spray, they were gone after the memory foam mattress incident. I love my memory foam mattresses so when my old one had a huge hole eaten out of it by one of my dogs, I chopped it up and made dog beds. Inevitably, someone pee'd on it and I pulled out my trusty bottle of SUN dilute. I had to use a lot because of the foam, the pee went into the foam, every single layer. So I opened the bottle and slowly poured the SUN over the pee spot. I could actually SEE the pee changing colors!!!! Where the pee was in the foam you could see it had stained the foam but the SUN changed it back, so this truly convinced me that something in this takes pee out. They are fast to respond to any questions I have and very helpful. This product is something I will ALWAYS have in my house.

This product was great! I had a very strong urine smell in my basement on the concrete. I made it extra strength. It took 2 applications and the smell is gone!
