Tea & Scones (Updated Edition): The Ultimate Collection of Recipes for Teatime

I have a small library of tea books and an entire arsenal of tea pots and cups and tea sets. The best books in my collection have usually come from the 'old' Victoria magazine publisher. And I did not realize when I ordered this book that it is released by the people who now publish Victoria magazine -- Hoffman Media. I was delighted with this volume and pleasantly surprised to find the same sort of quality that I used to love about the earlier tea books when Victoria was in its 'formative' years. I like a lot of pictures in my cookbooks; they help to inspire me and get me in the mood to cook. I also like to read other peoples' ideas about cooking and presentation and this book has all of the above. The pictures are first rate and the write ups of different tea rooms around the country are very interesting and motivating. I have always thought that scones were pretty straightforward and simple. But it is astonishing how many variations of scones there are, and all of them are fairly easily done. For those who like to branch out into different types of tea, there are plenty of informative sections on tea varieties and pairings. While those did not interest me as much as the recipes, there were several teas mentioned that sounded appealing that I have never heard of. Whether you are a novice in the tea department, or an old hand at taking tea, there is something for everyone in this lovely book and I can't imagine being disappointed with it.

Excellent variety in a lovely little package. I purchased this for my first foray into scone making (Christmas tea party) and the results were delicious. I receive multiple compliments each time I share scones , and with the help of a Nordic Ware pan they are uniform and white lovely. I highly recommend this book if you're new to scones or looking for some solid, basic (and slightly adventurous) recipes to work with.

I was having a big tea party for my moms birthday and two of my guests are gluten free for health reasons. Every gluten free recipe I could find online called for strange things that I would have no use for in the future so I didn't really want to try them. I was happy to find this and get several gluten free scone recipes that were easy and came from a source that I knew would taste good. Since then I have tried several other recipes and have enjoyed them a lot too. If you like scones this is a good book. I'm going to check it some of the other tea time cook books

This is one of those books that you gift yourself. Which I did for my Christmas gift to me. It is a lovely book with great pictures and recipes. Fairly easy to find ingredients.

This is a very pretty book and has so many wonderful recipes. I can’t wait for the fall temperatures so that I can fire up the oven and get baking. I am very interested in trying the flavored butter and spread recipes too.

This is a truly beautiful book filled with tasty treats and lovely pictures of tea set-ups with the scones and tea services. There are a variety of scones and toppings , both savory and sweet. Recommended by Tea Time Magazine. Best scone book I've every found!

I love this book! All the recipes are great and delicious! The pictures give you great ideas how to serve the scones! This was a great buy!

This is the must have cookbook for scones! The recipes are wonderfully delicious, and the pictures are absolutely gorgeous. As the cookbook states, this really is the “ultimate collection”. Congrats to all the people who put this cookbook together.

Really good recipes in this book!

I've only try two recipes but I'm very happy with the results. I don't intend to try all the recipes but from what I've done so far, I'll certainly try a few more.
