Very Useful
I bought this when my son was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome & ADHD aged 8 in 2007, and I also gave one to his class teacher who very successfully implemented it using the Lesson Plan contained in the book.It made a difference to the attitude of many of my son's peers - they began to realise his behaviour was not just bad but a cry for help. Some children unfortunately briefly taunted my son, but it was far outweighed by the positive response from most of the others in his class. I just explained to my son that sometimes other people need help too, with understanding their fears about people and things that are different from themselves. The book helped me understand my son in a new and coherent way too, since I was trying to absorb his dual diagnosis and learning to recognise what behaviours may be triggered by which situations and why it might be so. It makes a lot of sense and is easy to read.I have since bought further copies for friends, and my childminder borrowed it to help her understand my son when she looked after him sometimes after school.I can recommend this book for it's contents and also for all the links and further reading offered. It is still relevant six years on from when I first bought it and is a very reasonable price. It can certainly be understood by most Key Stage 2 students, and can be adapted for older/younger audiences and with some imagination for other behavioural/hidden disabilities.

Good resource
This is an excellent resource for kids learning to accept those with autism. I was and am a little hesitant about using it with the child who has autism present as Gray recommends, but would try it with lots of advanced planning. This seems like it is best for elementary age children but can be modified to use for teens.
