Bought this for new 425l tank. I needed this as I still had fish from previous tank that needed in new tank straight away. This product does exactly as it says. Never lost any fish and the tank never had any bacteria blooms. Water stayed clear the whole time. 1 month later fish still very happy and the water is perfect. Highly recommend this product

Didn't particularly work
Bought this on all the good reviews it seemed to be getting, and we have the API master test kit so thought the brand was reputable. Well we've been using this product for 3 weeks with daily water changes with a fish in cycle (bad LFS advice) and I can't say it's worked. Tank still isn't stable after 31 days in cycle and still reading ammonia and nitrites. Nitrates did seem to increase using this, but I'd say that's all this product did, it's not helped lower anything else and we have still lost 3 fish in the process despite this product 'preventing fish loss'. I wouldn't waste your money. I'd invest in seachem prime and currently trying seachem stability which seems to have much more positive reviews than this product, and it's cheaper.

Worked for me when overusing it *not for insta stock
Took around 3 weeks to complete cycle.Do not use to fully stock within the week *Product only for insta stock if your adding a tiny % of your fully stock amount e.g. 1 or 2 low bioload fish.I Really messed up my fish-less cycle for the first 2 weeks (First 2 weeks had relative help -they got a bit confused- Week one added 4ppm everyday ;P lead to Ammonia overdose way off the charts - Week 2 got under control but relative got confused and didn't add any ammonia)By the end of week 2 even with all the messiness bacterial colony for cycling ammonia to 0ppm had developed.End of week 3 nitrates were also 0ppm so i'm really happy that it cycled in under a month.*Really did add the full recommended amount to my tank nearly every other day ;P**My temp was at 26C and pH was 8.2 so probably helped cycle quicker***Saw some comments about refrigerating bottles for it to work - I did not refrigerate the bottle and still worked (kept at room temp ~20C)**** Probably does contain all bacteria you need, by end of first week when the ammonia was probably about 16ppm ;P I had nitrites around 5ppm and nitrates at around 60ppm

very quick startup of new tanks
I have used this many times when starting new aquariums and after major water changes. I use a full dose and then the same again after 2 days and within a couple of days I tested the water and found no nitrites or ammonia at all. I also give a dose when adding more fish and the water has remained clear and healthy. This product nearly eliminates the need to cycle a new tank

Not convinced it did anything
I tried using this for a fishless cycle. It looks just like water which I just assumed is how it is. Anyway I gave up in the end as it didn't appear fo do anything. I tried Seachem stability instead which I saw instant results with and it was more thick like there was actually something in it and not just water. I could have just had a bad bottle but wont use API quickstart again.
