Classic siren sound
This siren creates it's sound with a motor and a fan setup inside the housing. It pulls a fair amount of power and if your leads are nearby other wires carrying signals you'll get interference. I had to pull it apart and add capacitors across the motor and to the motor body. The siren only makes a single sound, not an up-down cycle so if you want that look at adding a relay or something to switch it on/off every half second or so.Great sound - very much like how I remember a fire engine siren.

Best 190
I've had this for almost 2 whole years now, it still runs great. it's gone through many changes, yes, but it still works fine. I'd prefer the chrome version, because the rotor is actually molded and not like the 3D printed red ones. but yeah I recommend this one.

But still pretty cool little horn
It's not near as loud as I expected. But still pretty cool little horn. If you're wanting a fun little horn to play around with this should work for you... just keep in mind your buying a 12 dollar horn.

Lasted six times
The media could not be loaded. Mounted vixen siren under my hood, using it as a cattle siren. Installation was very easy. Siren was not as loud as expected. But for the money good enough. After six uses the siren quit the motor still spins but has come apart from blades. I have not taken apart yet to see if fix will be simple.

This is a very nice little unit
This is review of Vixen Horns Loud 110dB Electric Motor Driven Horn/Alarm/Siren (Air Raid) Small/Compact Red 12V VXS-9050C (sometimes Amazon mixes reviews so I clarify). This is a very nice little unit. Fully mechanical, no electronics involved, the motor spins a blade that makes a wh-a-a-a-h-h-h sound. It takes a few seconds to spin up, starts off slow and quiet and revs up to a high pitch scream. The DC motor runs on a wide range of voltage, as low as 2-3 volts for gentle noise, or kick it up to 20+ for extra loud (though I don't know how long it would last at that higher voltage). It takes about 1 Amp at 12V. This "old school" mechanical siren is a fun repose from modern electronic sirens. It is a relatively small unit, and while you can hear it a block away OK, it isn't loud at that distance. Pretty effective in 50' radius or so.

Does exactly what i needed it to do
And thats annoy the neighbors !!!! Just kidding. The chrome version i have is well made smaller than expected and reasonably loud. Inside a car or building its not very audible from outside and as i suspect it's not waterproof it's doubtful if it would serve as an alarm. It most defiantly is not in any way shape or form akin to an Air Raid Siren and as others have suggested much more like an old fashion police siren. But never the less for my use its ideal and hopefully last a long time!
