Do not buy these blades!
I have a Craftsman bandsaw that uses 70 1/2 inch blades. A couple days ago, I purchased 4 new blades, 2 - 1/2" blades and 2 - 3/16" blades. When they came in today's mail (on time), I installed one of the 1/8 " blades. After about a half hour of use, the blade broke, so I installed one of the 3/16" blades. That blade, too, broke after a half hour of use. Not only that, the paint that was on the blades went on the wood I was cutting. The blades also made a clicking sound (from the point where they were put together) while I was cutting my pieces. Previously, I ordered replacement blades from Craftsman/Sears, and NEVER HAD ANY OF THESE PROBLEMS! Each blade I purchased from Sears lasted almost an entire season! Sure wish I could get my money back for the useless Powertech blades!

You get what you pay for - and that's not much
I've broken 3 of these blades withing days of receiving them. Let's say the first two were my fault. I did not have my guides optimally set and did not realize that two of the lower guide bearings had seized. After the first two, I educated myself on optimal band saw tuning (from the master, Alex Snodgrass) and replaced the guides. Everything was set up perfectly. I cut 14 circles on day 1 on a jig; maple and oak. On day two, I started a free hand cut into soft cedar. SNAP! Not sure if it was a weak weld or resistance from the blade dulling too quickly. Either way, these blades just do no last. As another reviewer mentioned, I can hear the ticking from the weld when the blade is running. I didn't realize that was the blade and had tried to adjust my tuning to get rid of the ticking, which I now realize is impossible because the weld is too thick. I'd suggest you spend more and get more. I'm done with Powertec.

Ecxellent get-it-done blade
I'm running the blade on a 10" Rikon band saw which is identical to its Craftsman twin.Primarily cutting 1/4" to 3/4" Baltic birch plywood that typically results in heat build-up and blade failure. The low tpi count provides an excellent cut with minimal heat.Bottom line: highly recommend !!!I also liked the unmarked plastic bag, no-frills packaging. I DON'T need a big box with a pretty colored picture of the blade.

Good value.
PowerTec seems to get a bad wrap a lot of times for making cheap power tools and accessories. No, these are not the best band saw blades you can buy but they come sharp and last long enough for most hobby work. I'm not that concerned with blade marks from my bandsaw anyway because I usually take any curved cuts to my disk or spindle sander anyway for final shaping. I don't think they are as durable as some of the higher priced brands but they seem to hold up pretty well. I've used everything from 6 to 24 TPI and I've been happy with all of them. As for that easy to install feature, that's kind of a loaded question. I gave 5 stars because they are extremely easy to install - on MY bandsaw! I have a Rikon and I love everything about it but installation and alignment are really all about the saw, not the blade.

Good blade, but be careful.
The finest cut I've found so far (I'm cutting very thin slivers of wood), and it doesn't leave teeth marks like other blades. BE AWARE that it's a thin blade, and can snap more easily. My previous one of these snapped at the joint (but gave me 2 seconds of warning for me to turn off the machine before snapping). To be fair, I was cutting a very hard wood, so it's not all the blade's fault. Still, you get what you pay for. I'm willing to take the risk because I haven't found an expensive blade that can match this fine cut.

Powertec Bandsaw Blade - low quality
I ordered this to replace a 10 year old blade on my Craftsman bandsaw. The blade arrived with a "kink" in the blade that was not obvious until I installed it and used it the first time. There is apparently a bump where the blade was welded together. Maybe the weld was not properly ground or sanded down? Anyway, there is a very noticeable "Bump" when I make cuts with this saw now. I have not used it for cutting anything that requires a super smooth saw line, and if I do need to make that kind of cut I will buy another brand of blade. I do not recommend this product.

It's time to try Olson brand
I must admit I am relatively new to bandsaws. I bought several sizes from Powertec to make bandsaw boxes. It didn't take me long to break the 1/8" blade. The 3/16" worked fine for several boxes. I released the tension and put the saw away. I took it out 4 months later and the same blade had "dulled itself" so bad that just cutting straight smoked pretty badly (I thought the wood was going to catch fire). I pulled out a new Powertec blade and it worked fine. I'm not sure how long these should last, but I'm going to try another brand next. Keep ya posted.

Great replacement blade for new saw!
After receiving my new Rikon bandsaw, I immediately put this better blade on! It's SO much sharper, and better made than the original blade! I plan on using it for some vintage guitar bridge work on older guitars. . . . . and just as a handy saw for odds and ends around the shop, to save time hacking hardwood pieces with my tiny fret and razor saws!

Me gustó

Impressed
For the money I'm extremely pleased with the speed of cut and tracking. Resawing 1 inch walnut was a breeze. Going to order a few more before the price goes up. I had a very nice blade from lee valley that broke after little use and it's double the price.

Very brittle material.
I used this blade for cutting wood. As i was using it today it snapped in two places. Definitely a surprise. I was able to bend and snap the remainder of the blade in my hands which I did not expect to be able to do. I think the material it was made of wasn't a very good material. Lets see how the 1/8" blade does.

Very dull
I tried to resaw a piece of 3/4 x 4 inch pine. Very slow to cut an hard to keep straight. Cut was very rough. I reinstalled my 1/4 inch blade to finish the job. Not at all happy with this blade.

Not flex back type of blade
I was cutting oak and pine with the 3/16 blade and I found that the blades were breaking all to often. This may be due to the fact that these blades are not the flex back type of blade required for curves.
