I love these colostrum collectors! I ended up purchasing multiple packs because they worked so well! They are so easy to use and made collecting much less stressful. Definitely use a sharpie on the included sticky because pens do rub off.

The media could not be loaded. First time using colostrum collectors, and they worked great! Very easy to use, the cap comes off in two parts (see photos) and the material is comfortable and flexible to hold. The material is also thick enough to create the suction needed to collect the colostrum. Very easy to store in the freezer, and very durable.I started collecting colostrum about a week or two before my son was born, and I’m so glad I did. My son spent a few nights in the NICU and I gave the nurses my colostrum for when I couldn’t be there (I also have a toddler). You get 6 containers, labels, a soft cloth, and a box to put everything in.Note: Now that we’re long past the colostrum days, I’ve repurposed the box to store our sterilized pacifiers.

There are a couple different ways you can collect colostrum prior to giving birth. I found that these collectors were easy to use and you don’t lose any in the collection process. Being that colostrum is liquid gold this is very important! They are easy to store (fridge or freezer) and, once baby arrives, you and can feed them straight from the dropper. Appreciate that they’re silicone.

Much more convenient then a syringe as colostrum will just drip in I’ve had no issues collecting. I’m 2 weeks from having baby and starting to collect. My reason for collecting now is to make it easier on myself when baby arrives and hopefully less stressful

I got the 6 pack and only ended up using one vial. I should have gotten the smaller pack in retrospect and started taking collecting serious sooner. I used one vial for all three collections in the same day and that gave me enough to be worth saving. Went into labor two days after starting. These are a really great design and material. I do recommend trying it.It gave me peace of mind to have that little bit saved in case my baby did not nurse right away.Not sure if it made a difference but my baby was able to latch right after birth and got enough food to gain weight in the first few days and weeks instead of lose weight which is typical. Perhaps it is a coincidence but I think me learning to express my colostrum and building that supply helped me produce more after labor.

So I got these early on with the intention of collecting before birth - and I did collect some before birth. But these came in the most handy for me at the hospital because my baby was a NICU baby and I couldn’t breast feed her for DAYS. but I could collect, pump, and store in these. I’ll 100% advocate for these to be on anyone’s lists just in case for that reason alone, on top of the intended use to collect prior to birth. The nurses loves them and they are easy to wash and also easy to feed to a baby with all the tubes and stuff. So thankful for these.

First time mama here, this haakaa colostrum collection kit was recommended to me by my lovely IBCLC. It's very easy to use to collect hand expressed colostrum. I'm usually able to collect around 1 mL every session with it. I haven't tried any other methods like with syringes, so I cannot compare them, but using the haakaa has been so easy for me that I don't think I'll need to try other methods. Just be aware that when you start approaching the 3 mL mark, be very gentle with the amount of suction you use. If you press too hard, some of your previously collected colostrum may come out. You don't want all your hard work collecting your liquid gold to go out the window!
