Super Unit that Looks Good & Works Great!
Boils a quart of water in under 3 minutes! Super easy to operate, and really easy to clean, too. Black color works well with most decors, and the cord is heavy duty. Unit has a reasonably quiet cooling fan, and some preset buttons to make meal prep even easier. The best thing was the price, which was better than most regular electric hotplates!

Good product for every day use
Having a kitchen remodel in our home and no acces to a stove. Purchased this product, and 4 weeks and counting we have been using it every day, a few times/day. Took some adapting to induction-style cooking, but so far so good, it performed very good for short boils and more than an hour-long ones. Cleaning is also way easier than of ceramic stove tops, as it cools down in seconds and it can be wiped off very quickly after the spill.

If it's Mueller I Know it's High Quality.
I have had to acclimate to the power of this induction unit. Using a gas stove is slow and turns my pans black. This is great on everything but I suggest you stay with it for a second when you are guessing the right temperature you need. Tonight I boiled eggs and they boiled over three times and that takes real talent to mess up boiled eggs. I just couldn't get it low enough with the lid on it until I turned it down to 212. I discovered if I left the lid off it could boil at 260. It appears when you lid your boiling eggs it is going to affect the boiling temperature which somehow affects the burner and the digital heat setting.Moral, don't use a lid on water or when boiling etc. I did steam in a large pot w strainer w lid, and no problem there so maybe the pan size is the difference. Still learning on this one.I did note the surface had a plastic covering as one person said. I thought that comes off on some appliances but I'm going to be very careful w mine because electric stove tops scratch up easily.Just have to realize even if there's a problem this company is happy to accommodate. I got my brother an item. He had a small problem and no questions asked - he was sent another w/o even returning the first. Not sure why it says frequently returned but if you can't handle the very strong heat this plate makes please return it because its nothing to fool with. Im learning and I love an electric stove. I want to avoid gas because I come from a town where not liking gas is like buying a Ford when there's a Chevy plant in town. Its a natural gas town. Anyway, if you go into one of the very old homes you can smell gas odor just from the long use of it. I don't think using gas is safe to breathe though people swear by it. Also if you have a gas leak you can become accustom to the smell and not know you have a leak. I'd rather have an electric stove but in my area of CA gas is used more. This is an awesome product. I'm loving mine. I will still be careful though because it requires a careful person when you are dealing with such a powerful unit.Love Mueller products. They really sell powerful long lasting products.Thank you Mueller.

Big ghost draw of 75-80 watts while off.
Induction, I find with this initial experimental product, works great. Boils water super fast. This does pull 1,700 watts to do so at the "boil" setting, but if only needed to do so for a short time, say for coffee or tea, is still very efficient because it will bring to a boil in two minutes or so. Almost as fast as microwave. Way faster than propane. However, for those looking for use in a camper or other energy focused application, I find this unit, while an excellent value at purchase, does constantly draw 75-80 watts while idling/ off. Therefore, to avoid this constant high ghost load, it must be unplugged after each use, once the cooling fan stops. Therefore, removed a star, as there is no understandable need to have so many lights on and draw so much power while not in use/ in the "Off" mode. If one is willing to unplug for efficiency, the quality and function are there for the price.

Serious cooktop - - Serious value
I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality of this induction cooktop for the price I paid. It's sturdy and chunky, yet sleek and good looking. I didn't really need the instruction manual, the controls are self explanatory. The glass top is super-easy to clean if you drip on it. This thing heats and changes heat levels immediately. A great value for a great cooktop!

An Induction cooking experiment, that impressed!
We wanted to experiment with Induction Cooking. Got this one and put it on top of our existing Electric cooking range. Using this for 6 months now as our main cooking stove & loving it.Pros:+ Heats up very fast and reduces cook time.+ Uses regular 110V plug.+ A major energy saving (at about 1,800 watts when in full 465F temperature setting), compared to our regular 220V which uses around 4,000 watts.+ Easy to clean.Cons: (but not at all big issues)- Slight humming sound.- Timer once set, cannot be increased or decreased. So have to reset afresh the timer.- Had to discard a few (non-magnetic) pot & pans, but they were on their way out anyways.- Would have like temperature readings in both Fahrenheit to Celsius. Only available in Fahrenheit.Upgrade:^ Would like to have multiple timers - 2 mins @ 425F + 3 mins. @ 300F + 5 mins. @ 140F
