I am a special education teacher. I have a student who was still using a fist grip on writing utensils at age 7, after lots of other failed attempts to teach her a tripod grasp. These grips have been helping to to switch to a tripod grasp on her pencil after only a few days of use! Also, I personally like using the fish grip. My finger fits comfortably in the grooves.

I'll start with the good. This product came with many different color options and came with secondary grips. Where I had an issue is that the finger grips are incredibly small and only come in one size. In theory, this seemed like a great idea but it forces children to hold the pencil in an awkward unnatural way where they may struggle even more to gain proper grip posture. My son is 4 with relatively small fingers and it was very difficult to get him to use this item. Personally, I would not recommend this product, if anything maybe buy beginner pencils.

I purchased these to assist a child receiving OT therapy. This review is simply about the condition of the items upon arrival and not about their utility. The grips came in a clear plastic box that was open and scuffed. The items inside are dusty and debris is inside the box (see photos). I do not feel confident about the quality of the items and there are not eligible for return. Therefore, a one star review is given because I have wasted my money!

Was trying to get my 5 year old to help with proper pencil grip. These have helped learn to hold properly and use the pencil. I do see a change in the handwriting. My older one got interested with the grip and loves the fish grip now - just as a reminder and works. Good product and helps with the handwriting.

I've been working with my 4 year old on how to hold a pencil properly when writing, so I went ahead and purchased these. Since starting to use them, there's been a real improvement. I brought them in to his school to ask his teacher what her thoughts were about using them, she also said they were a great tool.
