Saved me $36 bucks!
I had a older quart of Barge cement that had become more solid than liquid and unusable. My options were to either buy a new quart for $36 dollars plus tax, so closer to $40 I suppose, or to take a chance on buying a can of this thinner for $25 and see if it would make my cement workable again. I chose the cheaper option... It can be messy to pour to start with, but with a bit of thinking before pouring you can avoid any mess. I used a funnel to pour it, and never spilled a drop. I was surprised at how quickly it worked! after a few minutes of shaking, the thinner had all incorporated into the glue and definitely thinned it out. It did take a couple times to get the proper viscosity for the glue, but I have a very usable pot of glue now, and have 2/3 of the can of thinner for future use. so all in all, this was very worth the money! I read reviews of people having it being messy and creating a stringy gloopy glob of the glue, and all I can say is those are all 100% user error. if you take your time to pour properly, its not messy. and if you are patient, and give the thinner time to do its work, the glue comes out just fine, with no gloops or globs.

Never by contact cement without also buying the proper thinner
Fresh can of barge, but too thick. Added some barge thinner to my ts boy glue pot (buy one of these, too) and was perfect! No stringy strands flying everywhere you don't want them.

Great product but hard to pour and leaked in shipping
I'm not sure you need to use Barge's thinner for their glue, but to be safe I do. It leaked about a tablespoon or more in shipping so the inside of the box was wet and smelled of the thinner. I was easily able to tighten the cap, which means that no one checked to see if it was tight before packing it. Like most solvents and their containers, it cannot easily be poured without getting some where you didn't want it. Maybe one day this issue will be solved.

Effective thinner
I got this to use with Barge leather cement. I use the cement with a flat, plastic glue spreader which needs to be cleaned when I am done. If I let the spreader sit in the thinner for just a few seconds & then wipe it off, all of the glue is removed.A couple of suggestions;1) It has a strong smell, so use in a well-ventilated area & protect your eyes.2) It’s a big can, so you may want to transfer some to a smaller container, such as a small glass jar.

People swear for this, didn't impress me
My bad,. I reviewed the thinner instead the cement, I would give it 5 stars if the thinner were more affordable and unique, I didn't know some common spirit chemicals well known are among all other daily use chemicals under fancy names and nice design imprinted labels, this is one of those... But IMHO I think this is superior than the original active ingredient formula, but by far way more expensive, not using it for the main purpose "thinner" I using it more to clean, it really works better than the original formula
