This thing is worth the money! I love a little bump, I installed this in my son's 2019 Equinox (SUV) and it's nice! Good bass and the built in amp makes it easy to remove if needed and the overall size doesn't take up too much space. For a single Sub, this hits nicely!

Nice to a person who appreciate a bass on his tunes. Not to loud. But make your car vibrate

I am a casual hobby audio enthusiast. I care about my sound spectrum. I also care about my car space, accessibility, and utility. At age 30 I am no longer interested in having two 12” Subwoofer’s running 500w RMS making my ears bleed. Enter this guy. It’s easy to install, hits well and sounds good for its price tag, probably hitting 30 well. Below 30 it drops off quickly, though it says it’s rated for 20hz. I used speaker level and not RCA’s which make it not quite as good, but it works for my purposes. NOTE: The gain in an SUV is way too loud. I have to have the gain set at basically 15%, with a minimal amount of boost hitting around 45-50 hz. I’m happy with this sub. I wish it hit 25-29hz much louder, and it probably would if the box was twice the size. Alas, that’s not the point of this sub. Metal and Electronic music sounds great. Rap is ‘ok’ but would be much better with a 12” with a bigger box. This thing has very little wires to connect with- do NOT buy a huge wiring kit. Lastly, I’ve had a few hiccups. I have had it cut out a few times, randomly, for like 5-10 seconds, the blue light flickers a little, and then stabilizes. I’m not pushing it hard. And it’s totally random. It is either the bracket OR a ground connnection. Any advice would be appreciated.

Anybody that has owned a subwoofer in their vehicle in the past knows that it's hard to go back to not owning one. Factory stereos in cars have come a long way and I'm generally impressed with the system in my 2018 Malibu, but it still needs help with those lowest octaves. Enter this pioneer. I had this "professionally" installed at drive in autosound and it was a mediocre experience. I guess the tech did his job though as it had power and was making sound when he finished. No attempt was made to tune it so naturally it didn't sound great initially. Luckily, I enjoy tuning my own systems. I just needed them to do a clean install, which he did. It has phase shift, crossover dial, gain, and the bass boost frequency on the unit itself. The included bass knob only boosts or cuts a narrow frequency band that you set on the unit. I have mine set around 80hz to give it a warmer sound, but you can set it lower to give it slightly more rumble. It took some time and patience to get everything dialed in so plan on setting aside time to play with it. So after a few hours of tuning and a month of listening to music during my commutes I must say that I am extremely happy with this sub. I don't like excessive amounts of bass, but it can hit pretty hard if you want it to. But it isn't really that kind of subwoofer. No, this sub provides exceptional sound quality and integrates with the rest of your system to provide full, satisfying music. I listen mostly to rock and the punch from the kickdrums are great and bass guitars have great tone and pitch. On more bass heavy content, it welcomes those thick 808 hits, but it also doesn't play super low. I can definitely tell that it's just a single 12 in a compact sealed enclosure. Speaking of the enclosure, this is a relatively compact sub- especially for a 12. It fits neatly in my trunk and I basically still have my entire trunk. Very convenient. It is taller that some of the competitors though so be mindful of that. I highly recommend this subwoofer, but ask yourself what you're after. If you want sound pressure that will raise the hair on your arms, you probably aren't going to be impressed by this unit. If you're like me and want to flesh your system out with detailed bass, this is a excellent choice.
