They work just as well and are metallic as stated. I bought this pack of brushes and gave several out as gifts as they are individually wrapped.

My two girls & I all have different hair types. We love these brushes! They had a strong chemical odor when we got them, but that was resolved quickly by washing in warm soapy water.
