Easy to grow, waiting for flavor
Super easy to grow, I wanted some mint for ice tea. It’s still young, and not very flavorful yet, but it’s only like 3-4 weeks old.

If your seed pouch is empty, check the amazon packaging it arrived in! They may have fallen out
The mint seeds are so very tiny that as I took the seed pouch out of the Amazon box, the seeds were pouring out of the top of the factory sealed seed pouch. This is because the glue on the flap of the pouch does not go all the way to the edge. This is not a problem for most seeds and this is how seed pouches are normally sealed, but this miniscule space left unglued was enough for the seeds to escape as the pouch is bounced around during shipping. I had to shake the seeds out of the shipping box back into the pouch, then put the pouch in a clear bag so more won't fall out. I read other reviews about the germination rates and from what I gathered the seeds needed lots of moisture and lots of light. So what I did was fill a few small pots with moist seed-starting soil, sprinkle the seeds on top of the soil, then place the pots in ziploc bags and set those near a window. This has been quite successful and after a week I have at least 12 seedlings germinating and what looks to be more on the way.

So far so good! Needs love and patience! 💚
This is the first time I have planted mint so I don’t know how it will end up. But so far so good… I started the seeds indoors in a spot where they get a lot of sun. They seem like they did best and started to grow faster when temps got 72+. The soil I used is just a typical woody vegetable compost. I made sure the compost was Loose and crumbly (no need to pack it down) so that when I sprinkle the seeds over the soil they fell into snuggly crevices in the soil…no need to bury these seeds! Just sprinkle over top and they will find their way as you water. They can take a full 14 give or take, to show signs of sprouting so be patient ! When they do sprout they are nearly microscopic TINY!! You must be very gentle when watering. I suggest a gently watering with a can that has a narrow thin spout to control the water flow or a spray bottle to soak the soil without crushing and killing the baby sprouts. That all I have for now. I hope to update this review later with the results!

Growing like crazy
These seeds worked great for me. This is my first year of *serious* gardening and I'm basically learning as I go. I had heard that it could be difficult to grow mint from seeds so I WAY over planted - splitting the entire packet of seeds in two pots outdoors. One of the pots got knocked over and scattered everywhere by a stray cat before it really had a chance to do anything. The other is growing like crazy! I just sprinkled the seeds in the pot, put a thin layer of organic Vermiculite over the top of them and watered daily. I expect I will have to separate it into more pots in the near future (I hate to mess with success, though).
