Like a moth to the flame…shinny copper! Looks aside, I’ve used this kettle every day multiple times a day and it is aging beautifully. Now I baby this thing by not keeping it on the stove at cooking time. This is to keep food splatter off the lacquer finish. If you heat the kettle dirty those foods will bake into the finish. Prior to heating the kettle I ensure the cooktop (I have an electric range) is clean and the bottom is clean, then I heat the water, pour the water, empty the kettle, and set it aside on a trivet to cool. Simple, beautiful, such a pleasure to use and touch. Lovely and I look forward to using it for years to come.

Die Kupfer Kanne erwärmt sich sehr schnell, der Kaffee schmeckt seitdem viel besser.

Sans surprise : Hario c'est super bien fini et fait très bien le job! Je recommande. Mais il manquerait juste un petit thermomètre pour ce prix je trouve! Sinon le bec est de loin un des meilleurs que j'ai pu tester. Une référence en V60.

Buying the copper finish over the plain is an utterly unnecessary extravagance and not at all worth the premium. The finish itself is hardly the epitome of Japanese refinement (the spout is crudly welded to the kettle) and the ‘protective layer’ already missing at some points however, this genuienly is a joy to use and looks great in my kitchen along with other copper items.If you like pour over coffee, this holds its heat well and offers excellent control over the pour.
