OK, how cute is ?! It’s sturdy, it’s the perfect size for my dog pen and it Definitely makes our male dog want to pee on this instead of everything else So I am extremely happy with it!

Love it in my dog yard!
I love this. I think it’s cute, great quality, and some of the reviews mentioned they were surprised it wasn’t very hardy and it was pretty lightweight. That’s true, but I was so pleasantly surprised the top comes off, so I filled mine with rocks and put the top back on so it won’t blow over, I am very pleased with my purchase

A fire hydrant
I put this on my dogs pee area on my roof terrace to make it look cute. The decorative hydrant served it's purpose, however, since it does get wet because it is exposed to the elements, it has since rusted pretty badly. So, it may not last a long time. When I first got it, it was a beautiful red color, which has since faded over the past year. The size is appropriate and not too overwhelming and also not too small.

People love it when they see it, even if the dogs don't...
Prior to this we let our three dogs (two males) free roam and ended up with burn spots all over the yard. Bought this hydrant pee post to try and control where the dogs peed. Fell in love when I first saw the nostalgic appearance of it and people always ask where I got it. The Hydrant is light weight, so we did as suggested and filled it quarter way with gravel. But no matter what we did, our two male dogs avoided it. It was a running joke that we would place it in an area where we didn't want the dogs to pee, and it worked... We ended up just using it to hold the poop bags, but to our surprise, throughout a long New England winter and rainy spring the bags inside stayed dry... Since then we have installed a dog bathroom area with pea stone and trained our dogs to relieve themselves in that area alone. Now within the first two weeks of having the area installed one of our males dogs started to relieve himself on the hydrant and I watered it down after each time. Recently I noticed rust developing at the very bottom where the urine makes contact. So I gave it a light sand and sprayed it with Krylon "Rust Tough" than a matching Rustoleum paint color and now it's back to new... Over all, I am extremely happy with my purchase.

Definitely Recommend! Super Cute and Nicely Made!
No issues at all...exactly as pictured, and well made. It’s larger than some of the other fire hydrants available, so that’s why I picked it, and I’m so glad I did! It’s like a piece of art for my yard! I sprayed it with a couple clear coats of rustoleum, as others suggested, before putting it outside. And I filled it with rocks to keep it steady (the top comes off for easy filling). It took a couple days for my dog to not be scared of it (he’s tentative about everything and everyone, at first), but as soon as he realized he could hike his leg on it, he now goes to it right away. Hopefully this will save my bushes from destruction. Definitely recommend!

WISH I HAD FOUND THIS SOONER
Love this cute little cover up. I have Poms, so they don't really use this as a pee pole. I was having trouble with flies despite traps, flypaper, fly treatment, and making sure that poop bags were tied off thoroughly. This did the trick. The hydrant is very, very thin and flimsy and would easily blow over in the wind or getting brushed by a dog, so I put some concrete pieces in the bottom followed by a round piece of cardboard to make a "floor" and lined it with a small trash bag. Now I use this to toss in the poop bags until I have enough to haul the jaunt out the the garbage can. Very happy that the flies are no more.I also gave this three coats of UV clear matte paint coating to protect from sun and rain after reading all the reviews.I found the price to be too high. For something of this quality, I would have expected to pay about $30 or less.

Doesn’t last long for the money.
It was cute and my Dog used it instead of tree. However, the color faded in about 4 months and it rusted completely around the bottom within 2 years. For the money it should definitely last longer. Perhaps if it was treated with a waterproof coating it may be worth it.
