Perfect size!
This is a great pool for my twin toddlers, it's the perfect size. I enjoy sitting in it with them as well, just the right amount of water to keep cool in this Texas summer heat!It was not too hard to set up but you definitely need at least two people so you can hold up the sides as it fills. After about 5-10 minutes it will stand up by itself. PS- it is much easier to hold it up by standing up inside and letting it rest on your legs vs bending over to hold it up.

Ignore the bad reviews! It's a very well-constructed little pool.
This is a great pool for kids from toddler to older! So what if set-up requires more hands than you have alone? Apparently you have kids that want to get the pool ready, or you wouldn't be ordering the pool, have them help hold the sides up for a few minutes until the bottom is an inch or two deep in water and then the sides will then support themselves. It's a 5-minute process. Also, if your kids are too young to help, then this pool is too big for them. 18" of water is too much for a child smaller than 2-3 years. My 2 1/2 year old helped hold the sides up. Not to mention if your child is smaller than that, they won't be able to step over the sides and will collapse the pool trying to get in or out. Get a smaller pool. Don't blame the pool maker and give the product bad reviews for what amounts to your poor choice in ordering. The large sides collapsing into the water are not a comment on the quality of the pool. Once it's a few inches full, they stand up and it will fill without supervision. This size is a great compromise between tiny kiddie pools and bigger above-ground pools. My kids ages 2-12 all love it. Big enough for the big kids to have fun, small enough for the toddlers (I make them wear a life-jacket unless I'm in the yard with them). But I digress--the pool is well made and doesn't deserve the poor reviews from people who can't manage to fill it up. They have the problem, the product does not have a problem. It's a well-made product, just as described by the manufacturer and sellers. The other option (my preference), get some Gorilla brand clear (marine-quality tape) and tape pool noodles around the top edge. Keeps the sides up while it fills, and will stay on for as long as you have the pool. Problem solved, except that you lose the complete collapsibility of the pool, so it depends on what you want. You have to pull the bottom of the pool out to make a circle before the water gets too deep. Otherwise the pool can't be expanded any more. Again, user error, not a problem with the product itself. If it had loops to stake it out or something, it would work without help holding it up, but that would defeat the simplicity and the low cost. All-in-all a very good product.

Borke the first day we used it
This product was exactly what we wanted! We get this exact pool each year at our local walmart. We still had ours from last summer wnd were able to reuse it for a while. However we have a black walnut tree in our yard and it discolors the pools and makes them icky/slimy overtime. This pool is inexpensive enough that we do not mind getting a new one each year. Infact when we purchased it at walmart last summer we paid just $7 for it!! This year our walmart did not have them so since i love shopping with amazon I decided to get it from here, and with the next day shipping I was able to get the item quickly for my 4 and 2 year old sons to enjoy...FOR ONE DAY, then we found a rip in the seam. Am my children are younger we normally only put about 4 inches of water in the pool, just enough to make it stand so it was not an overfilling issue. We also have the pool located in a large flat area covered with sand, so what was on the groud was not an issue. Th patch that came with the pool in no way came close to repairing the pool. I was VERY DISSAPPOINTED with this pool. If I wanted to pay 40$ for my kids to swim I'd take them to a waterpark, we just wanted to enjoy somefamily time in the heat and were unable to do so because of this company's unreliable record. This is not the first intex I item I have purchased as I work for and run a public indoor pool and we always have issues with Intex items, I do not think I will purchase anything from them in the future, and if you should choose to, be prepared to have your item rip or break!

Fun and easy to set up
This is my third Intex pool over the past 6 years. The first two ended in the garbage when they developed either a small rip in the bottom that became bigger or a tear on the wall. The pools don't need much set up. Just spread out the pool, hang a hose inside the pool and wait until it starts filling up. Just to get it started, you might want to hold the sides up for a little while. The water will then automatically bring up the wall as it fills. You can then walk away until the water reaches the desired level. This pool is great for backyards where you don't want it to stay out all summer or you want a pool to transport to someone else's yard. My kids like the option to splash in a pool or use the yard to play ball. The down side is that you need to empty it out just about every day. Since there's no filter, the grass and environment that winds up in the pool after use will turn the water murky by the next day or two. Also emptying it is a bit inconvenient. You have to hold or weight the sides of the pool down so water can drain. Make sure you are barefoot or wear non-leather sandals (yes, I'm talking from experience).Another thing NOT TO DO is get lazy and throw a tarp over the pool so it can be used again the next day without emptying and refilling. We did this and removed the tarp the next day. The pool and water were both fine. Then we covered it the next time but left the tarp on for 2 days. Upon uncovering the pool, we discovered the heat had melted the top edge of the pool so the upper part does not fully stand up. Above the water line, the rim curled inward. The water was fine, but the pool is now mostly useless. On to my fourth pool.My kids are now 10 and have enjoyed this pool overall.
