Good laptop after some tweaking
I got this laptop a few days ago and have tested it for nearly 48h. Some things to consider • Pretty good screen for a laptop. 144hz and good looking out of the box • Laptop frame feels solid but isnt overly heavy. • The 6gb RTX 3060 runs games really well. Division 2 averaged over 120 fps at max settings at 1080p. I tested war thunder, escape from tarkov and mordhau as well and both were extremely smooth (both hit 144hz reliably at ultra 1080p). No noticable input or screen lag in mordhau so fast shooters will benefit as well. • No noticeable micro stutters when switching from • The laptop top doesn’t feel hot under pressure but I wouldn’t play this on my lap. • I added a 1tb WD Blue NVMe stick to this laptop, its easy to do and there are videos of how to do it. • The GPU runs cool for a laptop (avg 78 under pressure) but the CPU doesn’t. You can fix this by limiting the max power in power settings for the CPU or undervolting it. The cpu has initial spikes in temp but usually ends up in the mid 80s which is a little hot but expected. • Use dragon center to tune the performance. Don’t run extreme performance without cooler boost. • Buy a cooling pad and watch temps for the CPU, the CPU is the only thing that holds this beast back because it tends to hit high temps (95c max from what I saw) if left at max settings. • It has 2x USB3.2and 2x USB-C so you might need to buy an usb dongle. It has a single jack for a headset so you might need to buy a splitter depending on your headset. • One HDMI only. No displayport at all which is something to consider. The HDMI is capable of 4k 60hz but at the end of the day its HDMI. Should be compatible with g sync or g sync supported monitors.

Amazing Graphics and power for price!
This is an amazing laptop! I have had it for a little over a month now (from writing this review) and I have not had any performance issues that were caused by the computer or anything involving the computer itself. (Some programs I have don’t work properly but that has nothing to do with the laptop but missing files or improperly installed files. ) It is important to note, I have seen so many reviews given as one star because of a user fault. The most common issue is overheating. Here is some advice for the people who fail to research what they might need for a *GAMING LAPTOP*. GET AN EXTERNAL FAN PAD!!! The fans in the laptop are no where near strong enough to maintain proper cooling in a gaming laptop for prolonged periods of use. They are way too small and simply cannot keep the computer cool because of the power required to run all the hardware. If you simply did your research (which I hope is what your doing by reading this) you would know to get fans. They are cheap and they will assist in keeping your computer cool. Something else to note, gaming desktop PCs don’t generally have this problem (if ordered from and built by a trusted brand). I cannot guarantee that every computer will have a well built cooling system (in regards to PCs. Not laptops). In short, if you’re looking to get a gaming laptop, get external cooling fans. They are generally cheap and there are many for you to find.

My best purchase of 2021.
I'm a huge fan of MSI. This notebook is probably the best purchase I made late last year. The performance isn't bad whatsoever. Playing games like Rogue Company, Destiny 2 Rainbow Six Siege at over 100 to 200 fps makes it a better option than that of most home console. But at 1080p at high or medium settings of course. Some cons that I have to address though. 1. The battery dies fast even while playing small, less demanding games and can clock in at less than 2 hours before needing a charge again. 2. Unplugging the notebook from the power cable can cut performance in half or more. 3. Not much USB connectors so you're limited to what you can use unless you shell out for a usb hub. It's worth IMO. 4. Storage is murder if you want to install some if the best AAA games since it in only has 512gb out of the box plus the 16gb Ram is enough for gaming but editing needs more though. The best solution is upgrading to more storage and adding more ram once you feel you really need it. Check YouTube for any good tutorial videos once ready for upgrade. Finally 5. Temperature and noise levels. This notebook can get exceedingly hot and loud during sessions, I use a Tecknet cooler to help but it just manages to keep it a better temperature than reliying on the notebooks loud fans. Using headphones is only way bypass this annoyance, cause the "jet engine" like sound will put you off in just about an hour. Even with all these cons, I can't recommend this laptop enough. The performance is just too good and it's probably the best way to enter pc gaming at a decent price due to the ongoing GPU drought thanks to the chip shortage.

Good Laptop
Bought this for my son and he loved it. A year or two later it started having problems with the charging port which I replaced 3 times so far. Fans are probably dying because it keeps overheating which causes lagging in the graphics. But computers are only really good for 18 mos so I'm not too mad.

Buyer Beware! Hardware fails aren't under warranty!
Buyer beware- while the MSI GF65 Thin is, on paper, a solid machine, the hardware (specifically the RTX 3060 in the laptop) failed before we had the laptop for a year. After contacting MSI support via their chat service, I was informed that the laptop wasn't under warranty (even though we bought it brand new from Amazon less than a year ago from MSI's Amazon store) and that I now had a $1,300 paperweight. Now, less than a year after purchasing, the RTX 3060 in the laptop is no longer recognized by the BIOS (and doesn't even list any unknown devices/Nvidia GPUs in the Device Manager). Since the RTX card is not recognized by the BIOS, it isn't capable of running anything more demanding than Solitaire as it is using the Intel IGP (which is horrifically bad at gaming... Which is kind of the purpose of the laptop). In the short while that we were able to use the laptop to it's fullest extent, the performance was great though like any laptop, the fans on it are obscenely loud (a good set of headphones addressed that, though), and battery life is between 2 and 2.5 hours when under load (and only marginally longer when just browsing the web- figure about 3 - 3.5 hours). Just a shame that not only did the RTX 3060 die after less than a year of ownership, but MSI customer support was God-awful, rude, and unhelpful while sticking to their argument that the laptop is not under warranty. I'd recommend staying away from this laptop and MSI as a whole as it's clear from my experiences that they don't stand by their warranty nor their product. Shame, too, since the laptop has a lot going for it on paper.

Great laptop
Purchased this for my deployed husband. Took less than 6hrs to fully update everything (could have been less had I been paying more attention, possibly an hour or two). Handles all of the steam games he plays with finesse. Fine machine all around, just know the fan on this baby gets a bit loud (but hey — at least you hear her when she needs more air).

Very smooth and nice picture
I was very skeptical getting a laptop from amazon, I dont have much money so making a purchase like this I had to take a gamble with something that was a bit higher end(graphics card and CPU wise) for gaming so I can have it for a long time. I can say without a doubt this reminds me of my dad's old 5000 dollar Alienware laptop that was the top of the line of it's time. Smooth fps, some drops here and there but its probably because of me configuring some things. Amazing picture and sound and overall powerful system that is great if you're starting out to gaming and dont want to build a p.c right off the bat, especially with the inflated prices of parts right now. Clean it every day and just make sure you run the normal things you do to protect a computer and you will have no problems.

Love it
Got this as a gift for our daughter because of the gaming capacity. She loves it and uses it everyday! The sounds is great and works for what she needs for gaming. The size and weight are good as well.
