Works Great Very Accurate
Review is for Hornady G3-1500 scale. The scale I received works perfectly. All the listed features and controls work as described. I checked accuracy with my fifty year old Lyman balance beam powder scale and the Hornady scale is consistently within 1/10 of a grain. Who knows it may be the correct one of the two. Things to know: scale is extremely sensitive to air movement as others have said. Not only does a fan totally disrupt measurements but ANY air movement from fast hand movements will cause fluctuations in measurement. I was checking accuracy in my garage with the door open to the outside and any discernible breeze caused fluctuations. My balance beam scale was also affected but still useable whereas the Hornady scale was not. Instructions say to allow 5-20 minutes warm up but screen turns off at a maximum of 3 minutes. Apparently the scale is still on and warming up even though the instructions do not make this clear. Instructions for zeroing the scale with the powder pan on the scale is also not clear and requires some trial and error to get this right. Not difficult just not explained clearly. I really like this scale especially for measuring just a few loads at a given powder charge when looking for an accuracy load. I can just pour the powder into the pan slowly and finish with a powder trickler when I get close. Load three cartridges and move up 0.2 or 0.3 grains and repeat. Much faster than with a balance beams scale. No loss of zero and very repeatable when taking the powder charge off the scale, waiting a few seconds and rechecking. I suspect quality control or lack there of is the reason for many of the negative reviews. You either get a good one or you don’t. I have no idea if the scale is durable or if the measurements will remain accurate over time. Assuming the scale works for a few years with no problems it is well worth the cost and about all you can hope for these days. I had an expensive RCBS electronic powder measure and matching scale that communicated with each other so the powder measure would dispense the desired charge and then cut off. The motor in the powder measure quit working the first time I tried to use it during the initial calibration. I foolishly had not checked the system during the warranty period so even though the system was brand new and stored in my climate controlled home RCBS would not help in any way. To make matters worse they don’t even make the scale themselves and the actual manufacturer had no replacement parts.

Love this scale
Love this scale. Bought it to replace a Frankford Arsenal DS 750 that quit working when I tried to recalibrate it. The Hornady is simple to use, acquires weight much faster and is much much more accurate on weight.

Smooths reloading process
Great check scale. I used this in conjunction with my RCBS Chargemaster Supreme. I set the Chargemaster to throw .1 grain under then use the Hornady scale for the final .1 in conjunction with a powder trickler. To say it speeds up the reloading process is an understatement. But, one word of caution, it will take a moment to register the final grain once it drops. The scale doesn't not read the final couple of grains immediately. I mention it because it's possible to exceed target charge weight because of the lag.

Accurate, fast, economical
Upon arrival, I unpackaged the scale, zeroed it, and tested several weights...1 gram to 300 grams. I was actually amazed that each was weighed accurately within 0.001 grams. I have a bar balance that's also accurate, but the requires 15-30 seconds for the balance to settle to a particular weight. This G3-1500 gives a value almost immediately. Up to this point, I've never trusted these little scales enough to buy one, having many years in a lab where accurate milligrams or picograms comes into play. I reload ammo, so accuracy and repeatability is extremely important.

Very good scale for the cost!
This is a very good scale. I had a pocket scale that served me well for over 6 years, however it needed replacing after it being dropped. This scale is very accurate as a I have a certified weights from Lyman. My old scale had a +- drift of .2 grains. This Hornady scale is +- .1 variance at worst. I give it 4 stars, as it’s controls it a little difficult to get use to at first. After a month of use I’m getting the hang of it and it is worth the cost.

Accurate
Seems to be very accurate and easy to use. Checked against the supplied check weight plus others that I already owned plus a beam scale, the readings were spot on.
