Felt a UTI coming on and a friend recommended these. They really did help stop it from getting worse. I highly recommend this product.

This was recommended to me by my midwives after I tested positive for GBS in a urine culture. After 2 weeks of taking double the recommended dose, the GBS strain was gone, though I still tested positive for "mixed flora." I've been taking the recommended dose daily, and having a urine culture done once a month for the past two months. Each month, my mixed flora CFU count has gone down (from >100,000 to <25,0000). I've looked into other brands, even at Whole Foods during their supplement sale in January, and this is the cheapest dose per milligram I've found to date.

This is a fairly large clear capsule filled a piece colored powder that comes in a brown plastic bottle with a screw off lid. It has no taste and is easy to swallow. The label states that 1 capsule taken twice a day provides D-mannose 600 mg, cranberry juice powder 100 mg, and dandelion extract 50 mg. The label also states that it contains no GMOs, binders, preservatives, stearates, artificial ingredients, silicone dioxide, or titanium oxide. I noted no digestive side effects. I noticed only a slight improvement in my bladder urgency.

All the reputable articles about this supplement say always see your doctor etc etc, but let's be honest, it's not always possible to do that. I had some plain "cranberry supplement" capsules given to me by a friend and they did nothing for my painful UTI. The thing with cranberry is that it's just hard to get enough of the one chemical (d-mannose) that makes it hard for the infection to stick to the epithelial cells -- to knock out an active UTI the Mayo clinic said (see your doctor) but 1000 mg. twice daily (that's double the recommended dose of these) for the first three days then regular dosage for another week. Well I'm going double dosage the whole ten days but it IS working. I didn't really expect it to, but I'm thrilled not to be shelling out a couple hundred bucks for an office visit, tests, and prescription. Weirdly, they say not to be too hydrated while taking this, if it's too diluted the d-mannose doesn't work. So I'm staying moderately hydrated, and it's working beautifully.
