Q: Are the wings made of only soft material that drapes from the arms and shoulders or is there a rigid bar/rod?

There is no bar or structure in the wings they are completely soft and attach with small elastic bands that go over the shoulders, and two that go on the arm at the elbow and one on the finger. My little one loves these. They flow just like a butterfly.

Q: Will the wings fold/collapse when arms are down by your sides?

Yes - these are not rigid, but very fluid (it's normal material without any kind of binding to keep it stiff). The children can flutter the wings when they move their arms as the end of the wings has finger holder that goes on their index finger to keep the wings on. These are really awesome wings!

Q: How long is the wing span? Will they fit a small 3 yr old & a tall 15 mos. old?

I got them for my 2 year old and they were too big. Even with her arms strected out the wings fabric hung down. Still fun to play with but didn't look great.

Q: How do these attach in the back?

There are 2 elastic strips that go over the shoulders. At the end of the wings, there is another elastic loop the child can either wear around the wrist or their fingers when he/she wants to spread his/her wings. These wings are more comfortable than the wings that have the wire on them. The child can even sit down and keep them on for a long period of time. Great wings!
