A must-have survival guide to second puberty!
This book made me feel myself again! I was exhausted, had headaches, joint pain, gaining weight, and more. My freind recommended this book and I devoured it. The author's straight forward common sense approach to explaining second puberty made so much sense! Turns out everything I am going through is normal and the horrible symptoms can be minimized with a trip to your doctor and the right vitamins. Get this book ladies, you will gain a clear path to becoming yourself again.

Easy to understand
I read this book in one afternoon. Easy to understand, and I found the information very helpful. I purchased a second copy to give away.

Best perimenopause book ever!
Probably the best hormone book I’ve ever read! If you are entering your 40s and you just need information, this is the book for you. It’s an easy read and it gives you lots of tips and recommendations. I use the supplement taurine because of this book.

Ranked this #6 out of 45 in books on menopause and HRT (i.e., there are some better choices)
I've read and written mini-reviews of most of the popular menopause/HRT books on Amazon. This one I ranked #6 out of #45. To read the others, search for “frail proof” on the product page of other books you may be considering, or do an Internet search for "Frail Proof" to get a link to the full (and free) Buyer's Guide.Summary: Solid middle-of-the-road book but only endorses a light protocol supported by obsolete (even cherrypicked) research.The good:- Good coverage of the background material, and especially of perimenopause.- Appropriately skeptical of the WHIl, most herbal supplements, and antidepressants.- Lots of examples of how to talk to your doc about these issues.- Proper footnotes and references, though the references are definitely biased to support a very light protocol.The bad:- Weak protocol recommendation based on OMP and a 50 (half-sized) patch with no testosterone (and lots of false information about T in general).- No discussion of antiaging or "optimization level" HRT which most books above this in the rankings include.- Superficial coverage of thyroid issues.- Could be cut by at least 25% by removing redundant information (mostly about recommending the same supplements for a variety of different conditions).

Dr Briden is incredible
Dr Briden is one of my favourite physicians and this book is a goldmine of information! Well laid out, easy to read, easy to understand, easy to apply!

If you're over 40 you have to read this book
This is an incredibly helpful guide to perimenopause and menopause. I love Dr Briden's straightforward approach and the fact that she offers both traditional medical treatments for various issues as well as lifestyle and supplement suggestions. This book explained so much about what I've been going through the past few years in perimenopause and makes me grateful that I live at a time where women are actually talking about "the change".

MUST READ BOOK FOR WOMEN
I am a 48 year old woman and mother of 6 children. A year ago, I listened to Lara Briden on a podcast interview. I was so impressed with your demeanor and knowledge that I purchased your book Hormone Repair Manual. Over the last few years, I have been struggling with several symptoms that my general doctor and gynecologist were unable to help me with. The first one that concerned me the most was my breast pain, tenderness, sensitivity and swelling. I decided to try and find my own answers and Lara’s book gave me answers. I purchased Violet Daily and it has changed my life. I had previously purchased 3 different iodines looking for help and Violet Daily was the answer. My next concern was my hot flashes.
