Antimatter Matters - An IndieCade Award 2014 Finalist and IndieCade Festival 2014 Official Selection.  The game Physics Central called, "The perfect recipe for a fun-filled, nerdy evening". Ain't It Cool News proclaimed, "It's like CERN the board game!". And, GeekDad noted, "If you want a game with a unique theme, fantastic components, and a good balance of entertainment and education, check out Antimatter Matters!"  Explore the strange and wonderful world of quantum physics, where a handful of tiny particles interact to form the atoms that make up ourselves and everything we experience in the world around us.   As the lead scientist on an orbiting space laboratory, you are in charge of humanity's first attempt to construct ordinary matter from individually captured elementary particles.   Encounter hazards like quantum entanglement, antimatter collisions and solar flares messing up your instruments, while facing the actions of other player-scientists racing toward the same goal. Will you be the first to collect the right particles and successfully build an atom?   Antimatter Matters balances strategic choices, surprising interactions with other players and the unpredictable nature of the universe. Simple rules-10 minutes to learn-lead to exciting, fun gameplay.

Way more fun than you might think!
If you enjoy games and you like physics, this is the game for you.The mechanics are simple enough for every gamer. There is an element of chance (pun unintentional as you're only creating hydrogen), but there is some strategy in determining which quarks you are going after. This is a great game for learning about subatomic particles or just for something different. To top it off, the production quality is amazing.Well done!

... is an elementary school teacher by training and she love playing this game with me
My wife is an elementary school teacher by training and she love playing this game with me. The cards are a little too busy and the small words are tough to read, but the game is quick and fun. You can add some house rules to make it more fun and mess with folks Uno style and change quark colors during other folks turns if you have the card. Switching hands doesn't really make a whole lot of sense in the game, but the movements are interesting. I want to play with more folks to see if the game gets more intense.

A super game - I'm a professor and use it for my university Quantum Physics class

Tiresome
Great idea, unfortunately, the game is just boring. It is simply running around a board collecting bits. Virtually no strategy, nor meaningful decision making.

I LOVE IT! There are so few games out there ...
The game was temporarily sold out on Amazon when I came here, so I had to go direct to the company's site to purchase the game. Not a big deal, but I would have preferred to buy it here, since I have a Prime account. That said, I LOVE IT! There are so few games out there that I actually *want* my daughter to play, let alone that I have any inclination to play with her. This is a fantastic way to introduce a subject one might otherwise find daunting (the notion of "Quantum Physics" is enough to put the fear of G_d in anyone with a Liberal Arts degree): the concept is ingenious, and the design is exquisite. The game pieces are true works of craftsmanship (no cheap junk here, and thus the reason why this game is not inexpensive), and quite diverse. In fact, my only complaint – if you can call it that – is that there are a lot of different types of pieces, which means putting the game away can take a few minutes longer than with simpler board games. Then again, my daughter is currently leaving the game out after we play, and using the board and pieces to create completely unrelated story worlds of her own, so perhaps it’s all for the better! All in all, I would say this is the perfect educational tool – perfect for any science teacher, from Middle School through college. It also happens to be a fun way for friends and family to casually learn about an aspect of science that I never imagined could be approached without a PhD.

A Fantastic Concept that takes a little getting used to, but is well worth the work!
I became involved in the Kickstarter for this game because I was fascinated by the concept. I grew up on strategy board games, and they have greatly influenced my thinking and learning about math, science, engineering, remembering animals and environments; just a whole bunch of subjects that came right along with playing the games I love.So when I saw that someone was making a game about Quantum Physics, with the specific goal in mind to teach the subject while you're playing, I knew I had to get involved. From a gameplay standpoint, the game is somewhat simplistic. I would rate it at slightly above Catan for strategy. And while the instructions are a bit confusing when you first start trying to figure it out (in fact, a FAQ section to fill in some of the holes would be a fantastic addition), once you start playing, the game is easily picked up. Assemble the best atom you think you can make before everyone else.I would definitely recommend playing the standard game mode before trying the alternates, as the rules for the team and co-operative modes are far more confusing if you haven't playing the standard game.Bottom line: This game expands your horizons and teaches you about quantum physics while providing a pretty good game with fair amounts of strategy and player interaction. With three game modes and six (or seven?) different atoms that can be built, it is replayable many times without getting boring. The board and pieces are high quality, so you don't feel like you're playing a cheap game. I was happy to add this game to my collection.

Hours of fun learning physics
At first I was a bit skeptical of how well a complex subject matter such as quantum mechanics could fit into a board game, but the producers and creators at Elbowfish really did the job! Not only is the game easy to pick up within about 5 minutes, but the added challenges, such as building upon a hydrogen atom to make even more complex atoms adds to the replay value and challenges. I was so eager that I had to order a second copy for friends that I knew would enjoy learning the basic subject matter and have fun doing it. Each card that the game comes with includes little known facts such as charges of quarks, color and other insights into particle physics. Definitely a company that stands by their product as they are quick to offer support and answers to game material. Look out for these guys in the future.
