Low level reader
5 year old is on the verge of reading. I was searching for high interest readers for k-1 that incorporate sight words. Good illustrations but text is too simple (not engaging) for this purpose.

My son loves these books!
I bought these books because my son who is 5, was having difficulty, after his initial introduction to reading, finding motivation to keep going. When we got these he read them (with a little help) and he loved them instantly. He could not wait for his daddy & older sisters to get home so he could read to them. He was also teaching his 4 yr old sister how to "read" as well & now she is really excited about them. He hasn't gotten bored with them yet, which is amazing!

Great visual method for teaching reading
These were my favorite books for teaching young children to read when I was a teacher for kids with language delays. I like the predictable pattern. It helps kids learn to read quickly since they don't have to learn letter sounds first. I have bought many sets. Now I use them with my grand kids. My two-year old can read, I See, A picnic and Come See My Bugs.

Perfect books for son with autism
My son was diagnosed with moderate autism at the age of 2 y/o. These books were introduced to him at age 5. The books are easy to follow with pictures that are illustrated that make it easy to read the text. Each page has one to two sentences total. He literally learned to read using books by this author. Nothing short of amazing for us! Highly recommend!
