Fluval E 50w Advanced Electronic Heater

It was bigger than expected for the smallest wattage version so fitting it in was the first issue.Then it came with a two prong plug but luckily had an adapter.When running it in a small betta tank I found that it was always running 2C lower than I’d set it for meaning the light was always blue and it didn’t adjust properly if the water was too hot.I am returning it at a loss of postage.I ordered a replacement assuming it was faulty but the new one is three prongs and seems to be working fine. It is a low flow set up for my betta and attached vertically without an LF warning but it is placed centrally with a gap underneath too.I’d was a huge faff messing around with a heater not functioning as intended, cost me time and money to sort out and to realise it’s probably because the same seller is dispatching both EU and U.K. versions is very frustrating.

Very disappointed with this Fish tank heater. I was expecting a UK plug on this heater but it arrived with a two pin plug! which they are now selling. It is not safe to plug into a two pin adaptor as they are only 1 amp. I will be returning this and buying from a reputable company. It is obviously a cheap import. AVOID!!Update: I have had this heater for two months now and had nothing but trouble and now it has finally stopped working. I have to pack this, pay fo0r tracked postage and return to the seller. I wish listened to other reviews.This is my second of this heater and both have gone faulty. AVOID

Really good heater and is fab with the built in thermometer, looks great set up in the tank, espec as our tank is the fluval edge tank. Only downside is I do find I have to set the temperature gauge 0.5°-1° higher than what I want the temperature of the tank to be at as it seems to struggle a little, but that could be due to all this extremely cold weather we've been having? But I can live with that. I bought the 50w one(Which is suppose to heat up to a 60l tank) and I have a 46l tank. But other that I'm really pleased with it.

I bought this heater for my turtle's tank a few months ago as an upgrade to my 10w heater - it's heading towards winter, and I don't tend to keep the heating on.It's able to maintain a temperature of 26.5°C in a 50L tank (with about 18 litres of water in it) in a very cold room, I would recommend a higher wattage for people with more water in their tank or who require a larger change of temperature.The casing is extremely sturdy, a crucial factor for any turtle owner - they like to sit on or under it occasionally, which would scald them if it was not shielded by the thick plastic.I am also extremely impressed by the strength of the suckers, it's quite hard to get it off the wall of the aquarium!I contacted Fluval's customer support using the phone number included in the manual, as the instructions suggested keeping the heater vertical, which would leave much of it exposed in the tank I use for the turtle, they said that it's fine to have it horizontal as well, so long as it doesn't touch any of the sides.The blue, green and red screen is very useful for monitoring the tank's temperature at a glance (blue = under target temperature, green = target temperature, red = over target temperature). I have also read that it warns you if your tank has low water circulation, but I have not tested this.it's very easy to adjust the temperature, simply nudge the orange switch at the top to the left or the right to increase / decrease by 0.5°C

A little pricey at first compared to over heaters but u get u cant complain, worth every penny, Easy to read display with color changes to allow u to tell where the temp is at a glance, blue too cold -red too hot, temp can change from f-c by holding the leaver to one side for 5 seconds, change temp up and down by moving left or right in 0.5 differences. Comes fully protected in plastic cage that hides the tube. Easy to adjust possition by holding the tabs on the side. Placed in my 10gal/40 liter tank and it looks clean. Not a fan of fluval tanks but this heater is worth a try :)
