Would this hold a samsung super ultrawide curved gaming monitor (c49rg9) 49 inch

Works well I’m using this with the same monitor as you also. Holds the monitor rock solid and stable.

Will this work fine and hold with lg cx48? moving it around would that be an issue?

I don't know the weight of LG CX48 so cant directly answer - However I had my Alienware curved AW3418 DW weighing 7.27 Kg on the Ergotron and it was fine and moved around very well. However when I upgraded to the Samsung 49" Odyssey Ultra Curved monitor this was too much for the Ergoton to handle. Although the weight was within spec the overhang with the massive 1000R curve made it too heavy.

Does your desk have to be solid to use this vesa mount with the Samsung 49inch ?

I have it setup with the G9 Odyssey 49. You will need the Ergotron heavy-duty tilt pivot (part number: 98-540-216) to support the forward weight of the screen (due to its 1000R curvature). Re the desk, I’ve sandwiched a piece of hard wood between the desk and the arm’s fixtures for extra support (I’m using IKEA’s BEKANT desk). I hope you find this useful.

Will this hold the Samsung Odyssey G9?

It will only hold it if you purchase the HX heavy duty tilt pivot with it. Once you get that replace it with the one that comes with the arm.
