Faithful, encouraging and very informative
I had heard of David Devenish through a number of friends that know him personally. As somebody that is new(er) to the Ephesians 4 / apostolic fathering type of ministry and language I needed something to help navigate that conversation and this book served to be extremely helpful. It ends up being a manual of sorts for apostolic ministry. I would recommend this book to any church leader, or leader of a family of churches/movement of churches. The way you are building matters and this book helps build a theological and practical framework for laying apostolic foundations. Anyhow, to you, David (if you read your reviews)... I look forward to meeting you in person as I imagine our paths will cross at some point. Thank you for your faithful work and the diligence to write. I’ve been encouraged and helped by your work and I imagine many others have as well.

Tremendous practical read for today’s church leaders
There is a coming reformation of the church. This is a guide to the reformation! I would highly recommend it to all who want to see kingdom and generational impact and are tired of just gathering a congregation.

We need more fathers
Helpful work on fathering or apostolic ministry. If we can get over the use of the term, and see the gift continuing as describe here, it is a hope we will see more leaders rise up to care for others and multiply the church. Good definitions and examples within.

Functional practical clarity!
What an amazing read into the biblical insight of the apostolic. Mr. Devenish’s approach is quite an amazing and humble approach to this sometime incendiary topic.

Apostles today!
A solid exposition of the place of apostles and the need for their fathering input in the church today. The kindle version was let down by the absence of a linked contents page and hyperlinks to the extensive endnotes given for each chapter. This meant that to avoid endless scrolling I didn't use the footnotes or crossreference chapters as much as I might have. Still very worth the read though.

Convincing
I find this to be a convincing argument for the existence of contemporary apostolic ministry. However, I’m not convinced that some of the claims to apostleship from certain American celebrity pastors are genuine.

Clear, practical, detailed and very helpful teaching on apostles today.
Takes account of the various uses and views of the term apostle in recent years, and lays out a clear and viable description of a role which is Biblical and needed.
