The simplest, the shortest is often the best….
I have read many books of this nature, obviously, I started with ‘The Secret’, and I consider myself well versed in all things LOA. These books have been sitting in my Amazon basket for a little while and I did not feel the urge to remove them or buy them for a few months?? I guess that this was just another example of things coming to us when the time is right. So, I have just finished reading both ‘Becoming Magic’ and ‘Doing Magic’. I found the former took a slightly different route from the other books on the subject that I have read. I also found the authors tone a little harsher than I was used to. However, I finished the book in a day or two, and was glad I did! Though the book largely reaffirmed what I already knew, it was sufficiently different and fresh to hold my interest and reinvigorate my belief and stimulate my thinking. As for the authors tone, well maybe I was just feeling sensitive that day, because it certainly was not a theme that carried on throughout the books.I would reiterate what Genevieve said, you can’t just read ‘Becoming Magic’ in isolation, it must be read with the intention of reading ‘Doing Magic’ too.I read ‘Doing Magic’ immediately after ‘Becoming Magic’, and was highly impressed by the two books.Genevieve has a simple to understand, uncomplicated way of writing that does not require rereading over and over to make sure you understand the point she is making. She has not tried to ‘bulk up’ the book with unnecessary words, paragraphs or pages. It is what it is. It says what it says in a good, honest unflowery way. I found her analogies to be relevant and helpful when explaining a point.Overall, I massively enjoyed reading these two books, they were informative, inspiring and thought provoking. Don’t let the lack of pages put you off, these books are truly a case for quality over quantity! I am now looking forward to continuing my journey and reading ‘Advanced Magic’!

A Very Interesting Read.
I bought this whole series and the book on manifesting money too. Whilst I found the books a bit repetitive, the sentiment is dead on. The author recommends reading Becoming Magic first, doing the work and waiting til you're seeing results and then progressing to each book in turn and doing the same. Personally, I read all the books straight away, just to see how I felt about them, not with a view to trying to skip any steps, but I am now re-reading the first one and will follow her advice. I am keeping a gratitude journal and have had some small successes so far, which I do believe, are down to magic. Looking back at certain times in my life, I have manifested stuff without even realising it and it's interesting to go back to those moments and consider how the advice/instructions/suggestions in these books, apply to them. If you're serious about learning to manifest, I think these books will be a great start.

Small but interesting!
I had been eyeing this collection of books for a while and when I received a gift voucher, unfortunately for Amazon in the wrong country I decided to buy two of them. When they arrived I have to confess that I was disappointed as they were both very thin (I hadn't noticed that information but it is there). This particular one contains 86 pages and they are written in quite a large font and have large spaces between the lines and half empty pages at the end of each chapter. As I had got them for much more than I would have paid here in the UK it didn't seem fair but… after reading the first one I am sure that it was money well spent! The first thing that puzzled me was that the author says that you can pick up these booklets for free or very cheap. Well, they had cost me quite a lot of money, hadn't they? But then I realised that, whatever way I looked at it, they were a present, so they didn't technically cost me anything so… what was I moaning about? Then I noticed that Genevieve (not her real name) was going on and on about why she wrote the books, why they are thin, why she didn't just write one thicker book…. So I wasn't too happy, There I was, spent more money than I wanted to, just because I had the voucher for the wrong Amazon…. But when I finished reading this book I understood that although she didn't tell me anything I didn't already know, the fact that there isn't much else in this book made it stick in my mind!!! What is the message? Stop moaning!!! Stop complaining!!! Stop watching the news!!! Stop reading the papers and concentrate on what is important, on what is positive! True, I had stopped reading the paper and watching the news quite a few months ago but recent events made me curious again, so I had relapsed and this little book confronted me with my relapse. Yes, I live in this world. Yes, there is a lot negative and even horrendous stuff going on, but I don't need to let myself get dragged into what I can't change and if I live my life in a very positive way and turn my life around, there is a lot of good I can do, not in the fashionable charitable way of big gestures and a lot of money, but the way that it really counts: with small gestures that make a real difference! My first step, after having vowed to stay away from the news and the papers and to stop moaning (oh, my now almost ex-husband would be happy to hear this…… ) was to send Genevieve an e-mail in which I vowed to change my life and to start today! Oh, don't worry… she invites people to do that and even gives you her e-mail address in the book, so I was not imposing on her. Then, as I have just started to read the second book, I am going to write down the first thing I want to accomplish, first the negatives and my fears and then what great things will come out of it. That will be my first letter to the Universe, God, my Angels or whoever is out there dying to make all my wishes come true! I have a doubt though…. One is supposed to write down one's wish and then either burn it or post it in a mailbox one can make for this effect (in my case I have already decided that I will burn my letter). Why is that? Because if one keeps on asking for what it is that one wants it will create a situation of lack and so, instead of receiving our wish we create more lack. But on the next chapter of the second book, Doing Magic (which is even thinner, 73 pages), she says that one can also visualise one's desire for 15 minutes but she doesn't really explain whether this is something that one should only do once and then let go because if we keep visualising it the same lack will occur. So, I visualised my wish this morning for 15 minutes and now I am going to write the letter and burn it. Let's see what happens….If I had to tell you what this book is all about in a few words I would say that it is about understanding that it is not the asking that is important, how you do it, what you ask, but about being prepared to receive because that is where most of us go wrong! I have seen true miracles happen in my life when I did all I could and then released and trusted that it would all be all right in the end!
