I really like these chisels: they are sharp and well polished out of the package. I've used them in up to two layers of 10-12 oz veg tan and they've held up well so far. I suggest either rubbing them on some paraffin wax or dipping them in beeswax to slightly lubricate them so they are easier to extract from the leather. The one small drawback is the handles are so smoothly polished, that it's hard to grip them, both to extract from the leather, but also to keep them from twisting slightly in your hand when driving into leather. This issue is most commonly seen with the single hole, and one could argue that instead of punching, just use an awl, but I'm a little picky and like all the holes to be made with irons so they are exactly the same size. Great set I'll buy again if they ever fail on me.
