NES Chemistry Secrets Study Guide: NES Test Review for the National Evaluation Series Tests (Secrets (Mometrix))

This gave a good general overview of the nes test, but the questions were much easier than those on the actual test. I would recommend pairing this with an AP chemistry book to get the depth needed to do well on the test.

Content is organized clear and concise. The focus is on the important need to know content with problems embedded for practice. Additionally there are practice exams to assess understanding after reviewing the content. It is a great efficient way to review chemistry content. ---Christina B.

I bought this book AFTER buying another one what turned out to be a disappointment. This book was so great I have even shared it with aids and struggling students.

The biggest thing is that I have found a LOT of errors. Mainly typos. For example, here is an exact quote from the book::"Balanced equation for the neutralization of hydrochloric acid, KCl (aq), withsodium hydroxide, NaOH (aq)"...obviously hydrochloric acid is not KCl so that is a simple typo, but I have found MANY typos like these throughout the book!!!! Also, there are some sections that simply aren't described very well (which is annoying by itself) but what is worse, when I google the information in these sections, there have been a few times (once or twice) where the book has different information than what other resources online say. At first I was trusting the book to have things more correct than wikipedia or other online resources, but now that I have found so many typos, it makes me question the quality of the information given.

I am only starting to read and look over the book, but it seems like a great help with good suggestions and example problems. It is a great book for a general test. I have also got a book for my specific test but it is not specifically for the NES. Each book has its strenth and compare it to the state prep materials. I did notice it is missing some specific types of problems.
