Great Gift for our Son
Our son loves science and was learning about electricity in school. He searched Amazon for a long time before finding this kit and saying this was the one he wanted. As soon as it arrived, he opened it and put it all together. I don't remember if there were instructions or not, but he didn't need them. Worked perfectly.

Good construction quality and reasonable price
The product does what it says it does. Because this product is an educational device, there is one re-design that would improve the educational potential. This is to route all conductors on the upper sides of the switches and light bulb holders. This would ensure that students can visually follow every conductive segment of a complete circuit. The battery holder exemplifies this "expose the conductor path to the student" design. If the switch module and light bulb module did also, the educational impact of this kit would be improved. As it is now, the teacher must remind students that some of the conduction path is hidden from view on the underside of the black plastic insulator bodies of the switch and bulb units.

Horrible design, Cheap junk - melts
These worked OK for a few minutes. First off, it's a dumb design. The up position for wires has the battery hanging down in the holder. Routinely it drops out. Why have it designed this way?Second, they're built to chain together. They have grooves on them to side and connect 2+ batteries together. DON'T DO THIS. The plastic is too cheap. I had 4 of 10 melted beyond usability in a classroom within a week. The metal got warm when we were doing electromagnetism stuff and boom, melts and breaks with just 2 chained batteries.

They work ok. Kinda flimsy but are cheap. Dont expect anything super awesome, but they so work and for the price the quality doesnt bother me too much

Great for Teaching Basic Circuitry!
I bought this to teach electric circuits in my science camp with 1st-4th graders. They loved it and this was an affordable way to introduce electricity concepts. These materials are a little on the cheaper side but I believe with proper care, they can last for years to come.
