If i purchase a new instant pot, do i need this lid also?

The Slow Cook function on Instant Pot IP-CSG series emulates other slow cookers. It can be set to cook for 1~10 hours. The operating temperature is at 88-93°C (190-200°F). You need to set the steam release handle to the "venting" position during slow cook. If not, a low pressure could build up in the pot.The IP-LUX series has more sophisticated temperature control, which you can choose "Less", "Normal" and "More" with the "Adjust" button. These correspond to the Low, Medium and High in common slow cookers. The operating temperature is at 88-99°C (190-210°F), and it can be set to cook for 1~10 hours. why would you want the glass lid in the first place?

I didn't think I would use a glass lid either. I have crockpots and I would be using my instant pot as a pressure cooker. I have changed my mind. The instant pot is right there on the counter so I don't have to drag it out. It already has a timer. The one thing it doesn't have is a way to quickly check the food without taking off the lid. Hence the need for the glass lid.

Some say that you can't use the Glass Lid to slow cook, some say that you can (see Reviews). Why?

Must have if you have extra internal pot or Use sauté function. It is useful to cover the pot after cooking after removal when you need to cook second dish using another internal pot.

One of the best purchases I've ever made!! I purchased it with an extra stainless steel pot. Now I can place one pot with the cooked food in the fridge with the lid on it and start another dish in the other instant pot. I love that I can see through the lid and see what's inside the pot when it's in the fridge. It's sturdy, well made, and well designed aesthetically. Fits perfectly, easy to clean, seals well, easy to store and to use.

The lid works very well for slow cooking with the instant pot, but it also fits my normal pots.
