Heavy duty at a good price with nice features
First and foremost, I’m not a sawyer, a logger, or an arborist. I am a cabin owner that needed to buck a 138’ tree in a place where medical attention is hard to get. These are heavy duty, slightly on the stiff side when new. They felt way more protective than other brands including Stihl.Lots of room for adjustment in each size, and for those of us with a shorter inseam the ends are easy to flip up and stay secure. One really handy feature was the pocket over the left thigh. Stihl brand felling wedges were a perfect fit. It’s attached to the chaps at the waist so it’s allowed to swing free as you kneel or bend without digging into your thigh. One of the guys in our group had Stihl brand chaps which had no pocket. Another had a pocket but it was small and sewn all the way around on the thigh. Both were a bit jealous of mine.As far as protection goes- I hope to never actually test that. But again, they have a good thickness and weight to them so I’m confident they would work as intended. One thing that would have been nice was a steel or plastic D ring somewhere on the belt to clip a chainsaw wrench to. I realize pros often wear a separate belt for all of their accessories but again, I’m just a regular guy who doesn’t do this for a living.

comfortable
I've used this chainsaw chaps for twice and I would like to say yes to this product. Normally I wear 37'' long jeans. so I bought the chainsaw chaps in size 36''-38''. As shown on lables and documents, the chainsaw chaps conforms to the standard ASTM F1897-14 and the newest standard ASTM F3325-19, along with OSHA Regulation 1910-266 and ANSI Z133.1 Standards. UL tested & certified. These are paramount for protective garment since they are directly related to our safety when operating tools like chainsaws. Nothing compares to safety.I won't mind how expensive the truly effective protective garment is. And the price is reasonable. As told and felt, sturdy 1000D Oxford Polyester technical protective material is rugged and durable.Good for you. What else I would recommend about the product itself could be their special design:a proper side pocket with snap closure, adjustable straps with standard buckles, adjustabale waist sizes and folding waistband with aligned buttons.I would wear the chainsaw chaps everytime if I am ready to log because the product can reduce the risk and severity of injury by providing cut resistance that slows and stops the running chain for chiansaw operators when unexpected contacts happened. I would feel safe when I am wearing them.I hope these information can help to decide since they really helped me to choose protective garment products. Rememer to use personal protective equipments when you are going to do some dangerous cutting or others.

Work safe.
I am 6' and weigh 140. These are made with plenty of adjustment to fit me and up to much bigger guys. The legs over lap as they wrap around your leg with plenty of adjustment on the 4 straps on each leg. They go on and off quickly, which is good, because they are very hot in warm weather. I had a minor cut on my knee before I got these. That was still very scary. Safety equipment is a good investment, if you use it. They're no good sitting the truck or the shop. You must wear them. Way cheaper than a trip to the ER.

Very well made chaps!
Just tried these chaps on yesterday to do some wood cutting. They seem to be well made and fit great. Heavier than I am use to (nothing) but I feel so much safer while using the chainsaw. Great price and very fast shipping. Thanks

Seem very good
Well, I’m not gonna try cutting these for the sake of a review, but I am going to like having them when I get tired and become less careful (and keep working past when I should stop). They feel like they’ll be very hot in hot weather, but part of the back being open will help. These go on easily, and once you adjust the straps to the proper length they go on quickly the next time. Well under a minute for the what, 7 buckles. (9 buckles? I don’t have them with me at the moment.) They add a noticeable weight but it’s not bad, and they tighten up enough that they they don’t tend to snag on brush. They’re a little stiff due to the protection they offer, but they don’t restrict my movement too much. Some though. It’s stupid how little PPE I’ve worn at times cutting big trees when it’s hot - or I’ve worn PPE but shorts and a t-shirt - but I recognize that I’ve been lucky more than once and those days are over. Very glad I’ve got these chaps, especially given how often I’m working in remote locations.I recommend just buying ‘em. It makes so much sense!

Great pants, great seller!
Paid for fastest shipping and indeed, the package arrived in LESS than 24 hours. Fantastic! The chaps themselves, were difficult to keep up at the waist. Not the garments fault, He just happens to be over weight and somewhat round. The problem however, was easily solved with an inexpensive pair of suspenders from Walmart. The chaps are a bit heavy but I am glad for that because they appear safer. And finally, my hubby said that they may be too hot to wear on warmer days, but I'll will have to let you know about that... One last thing, spend some time when you receive them trying them and adjusting the waist and leg buckles prior to using them the first time. This can be a bit difficult, but well worth the time spent.

Do what they are supposed to do! Hit with chain in the first hour of use!
The chaps are well made! I wish I had ordered the medium size. I wear a 30 inch jean and they are plenty long for me.In the first hour of use I touched the fabric with the chain and put a 1/2 in tear in the leg of the chap. Is there a patch I could put on the tear to protect the fabric underneath the hole.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Item was returned for refund.
I returned the item. Probably would offer good protection, but I should have paid attention to other reviews before purchase. The apron was heavy and too hot to wear in warm weather. Also, the buckles were awkward to use -- both legs were the same. Not comfortable if folded over to adjust from 42" to 40" length.
