slightly different than grocery store bought, but better, maybe? read...
So this is basically like the display box you'd see at a 7-11 full of pop tarts. Not that I've actually ever seen pop tarts on display like that. But that's how it's designed. The box is the display and the pop tarts (two to a package) aren't in blank foil like the grocery store version - rather, they're in bright colored branded pop tart wrapping. So each packet of two pop tarts looks like something you'd grab off the counter and buy individually. So that's not a bad thing, just an observation. What's different about the pop tarts themselves is that they appear to be designed NOT to be toasted. They're actually flakier than the grocery store version so they crumble quite easily when you pull them out of the bag. Be careful when eating these in your wife's brand new car. Ahem. And that makes sense too - because if you were to buy these as an individual serving at a convenience store, odds are you wouldn't have access to a toaster in the first place. And if you're like me, you don't toast them to begin with. So that being said, if you're not a pop tart toaster, then these are actually better made exactly for that purpose! Now I haven't toasted one yet so I don't know if they toast just as well, so I can't review on that. I'll post when I do! But I can say that quality control of the frosting is MUCH better with these versions over the grocery store version as there's significantly more even distribution of frosting to pastry. In the grocery store version I've actually had one of my kids throw a pop tarts back at me because of its poor frosting-to-pastry ratio. Shame on you... whoever you are Mr. Pop Tart Maker! But in this CostCo sized carton of pop tarts, perhaps because they're chancing that the one pop tart you pull from the box may be your last one, they do a much better job evening out and applying the white gold. So that's it - try it, you'll see what I mean. It's not worse, it's different, and for grab-n-go non-toasters, you might actually prefer. I accidentally bought two boxes as well, so I'll let you know how they taste (errr toast?) after the apocalypse being as I'm sure I'll still have plenty by then.

How can you go wrong with Pop-Tarts
Nostalgia for when I was a kid and they first came out with these. Cherry is my greatest favorite and strawberry second best. I do prefer the iced pop-tarts over the plain. Have no desire to try the weird flavors they came out with the last few years. I guess they are trying to keep the newer generation interested.

Yum Pop-Tarts!
I purchased this box of Pop-Tars for my boyfriend. It's so nice to have them on hand for when he (or sometimes I) gets a craving. The pop tarts come in 3 smaller boxes in 1 big box. It is packaged in this way so that you could resell for a fundraiser, snack stand, etc. If you are a fan of strawberry Pop-Tarts, this is a great price and a great product!

Box Damaged
Box crushed in which, in turn, slightly damaged the toaster pastries. Everybody knows you can’t put broken toaster pastries in a toaster. They were exactly as expected besides being broken. Same quality product, fresh and tasty. Definitely not a healthy choice as far as nutrition goes but people like what they like! It was a little cheaper to order from Amazon for this product, and worked because I couldn’t get to the store. I’ll likely continue buying them at the grocery store just insure the pastries are toaster- worthy.

Grateful to have Red Velvet flavor available!
I’ve recently started refrigerating them so the cream filling tastes more like red velvet cream cheese icing. What a treat to have them available again! I’ve been addicted to these for years. When off the market I was devastated. (Yes, like a spoiled American) but grateful for all the good freedom allows me to obtain. Now I try to buy them in larger quantities in fear of Kellogg taking them off the market again. Not hoarding, just keeping about 10 boxes in my cabinet. Enjoy them while you can, but leave enough for me too.:)

Sugar Overload
You know exactly what you're going to get with Pop-Tarts: something that was once flour, now coated in various types of sugar and stuffed with liquefied sugar, and then sprinkled with a handful of artificial dyes. The calorie count for one pastry is 200 - and if you ate the 2-pastry package like most people would, that's a whopping 400 calories! And for what? ALMOST NO NUTRITION. If you're an adult and you wish to eat something phenomenally bad for you and you just don't care (and we've all been there!), they by all means, eat this product. But don't be fooled by the packaging saying that this product was "baked with real fruit!" If you follow the asterisk, that equates to "filling made with equal to 10% fruit" - whatever that means?! I'd even go as far to say that these are less healthy than potato chips or homemade ice cream. All that being said, these taste sugary delicious, just like you remember from middle school. And warmed up, they are even better. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, and you are in heaven. Warm, flaky outsides...gooey insides...and super blueberry. If I had to choose a Pop-Tart flavor, I'd actually choose one that is not frosted - the sugar on top is super overwhelming - but hey, I wouldn't be eating these to be "healthy," so I might as well heat it up, add some ice cream on top, and hate myself in the morning. A few stats about the package: - Expiration date: July 28, 2016 - All Pop-Tarts arrived fresh and in one piece, just like the box you'd want to purchase at the grocery store.
