Comes with a case!
I am way to excited that this came with a case lol. You get a solid, hard plastic and clear case to store these in. Since these are very sharp blades, it is important that the case is clear, so you know there are blades inside and you can stay safe. The case claps closed, so it wont pop open. As for the scalpels, each blade is individually wrapped, to ensure they are sterile and safe. The packing has a slight cardboard strip inside, which helps keep the blades flat and not break or bend when packaged. You get two handles, which is great to have an extra one, so you can always have a sterile blade on hand, when you need it. The handles are sturdy and a good size, fits right in my hand. There is even some ridges towards the top, where you lay your thumb and it helps me keep the blade still. The blades fit on the handle effortlessly. You slide the tip in and then it clicks down. You can hear the click, and that is how you know your blade is secure. The handle and blade stayed stable and secure while in use. Then you just reverse that, to pull the blade off, when it is time for the new one. Just be very careful!! The blades are light weight and go on easily, so if you aren't paying attention you might cut yourself.

Reasonable blades, crappy handles
The blades seem fine so far. Not the sharpest I have seen but put up with some abuse. The handles are bad. The edges are too sharp, and flats too flat. I fixed one handle by grinding on it with a Dremel for about 5 minutes. The texture is now really nice.

Not great but OK for my needs
I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I bought these because I cannot sharpen a knife to save my soul, and needed something sharp to dress out an excess of roosters. These proved adequate for that purpose. PRO’s They are affordable and disposable. CON’s The blades do not feel very sturdy - I could see them breaking with a bit of pressure and they dull rather fast. The handles are very basic. They are not high quality. Check that the blade is locked on/seated adequately before using! I haven’t had a problem, but it doesn’t have that “snapped on” feel. Overall, I recommend them for basic necropsy/dissection purposes. It is better than the frustration of trying to use a whetstone and still having a dull blade.

No more e-xacto blades
With e-xacto raising it's price I finally joined other hobbiest in owning a scalpel for model building a scalpel is less safe to change blades but so much cheaper. This pack comes in a plastic case with 2 handles so, a spare. I wish I could get a box of 100 blades though as normally I use that many in a year. Nice feature the plastic case can hold the scalpel with the blade fitted for #11 and #10 blades if you have both sizes.
