The metal box containing the game parts is really neat and will keep the game intact for years to come. This collectors edition contains tile holders and a score pad which the regular edition does not have. All of the parts in this edition are top quality. It was delivered well packaged and arrived as promised. I would mention that you are guaranteed many, many hours of entertainment and fun playing this game and I would not hesitate to recommend the seller.

This is a really challenging and fun game for adults.Since it is based on colors and shapes, we thought our 6 year old grandson could play it along with the adults. He got really bored really fast.This gets increasingly complex with every round, so it is a simple concept that gets really challenging.The friend who recommended it said you could play and socialize at the same time and even drink wine. But this requires concentration. Still fun!Also, we have a rectangular table. A square one would be better so everyone can see as the tiles get laid out. it is difficult to distinguish the red from the orange, especially since the tiles are high gloss and reflect light. But that is sort of nit picking. We are keeping the game and playing it as often as possible.

We bought the basic version of Qwerkle and found it to be too "flimsy". The tiles were not of a solid 'weighty' make, more like a thick balsa wood. And it didn't have racks to place your tiles, so you had to stand them up in front of you, which made them easy to tip over. And of course a tin box will age much better than a cardboard box. Although this was pricier than the basic, we recommend the Collector's Edition for sure!

We have a cheaper (not cheap but cheaper) wooden set of this game. The paint is rubbing off of the wooden tiles so I got this one. The tiles are a heavier duty and have a clear coat on them. She prefers the feel of the wooden blocks. This set comes with a rack to hold the tiles, a score card, and a Qwirkle painted pencil. The bag on this one is more of a cheaper plastic feeling bag with nicer print. The cheaper set has a cloth/canvas type of bag which gives it a more authentic feel. This is a nice, fancy set but the cheaper version that we already have is more preferred. It's just that the colors are wearing out.

First of all, I’m a huge Qwirkle fan! I got the original edition with wooden blocks. My family enjoyed playing it so much, the painted symbols began to wear off. Before taking out my acrylic paints to touch up the blocks, I looked into ordering a new game. The new deluxe edition has acrylic tiles (that will not chip or fade) and lovely wooden trays to hold the tiles at a perfect angle for planning your strategy & playing the game. The game comes in a durable tin. Not a box. As a teacher, mom & grandma, I highly recommend this game for its value in teaching strategic thinking. The vivid colors make it visually very appealing.

We love the tiles in our deluxe edition. The regular wooden tiles we had were scratching and fading but we play all weekend with our family. Got the upgraded version and we are happy with it. One recommendation we have is to make a bigger bag and a better quality bag.
