Best Value anywhere
I've had a dozen slicers, both home and commercial models in the past 50 years and I would rate this one the best value. It has many of the desirable features of a commercial slicer without all the bulk and weight yet it's priced very low. It only had one bad issue and that was the blade retaining screws. They were installed at the factory using a very powerful impact screwdriver and almost impossible to remove. I finally went down to the local auto parts store and bought a 12.00 impact screwdriver and was able to remove them that way. It has to be the type of impact that you hit with a hammer. The screws just laughed at my electric impact driver. Once removed I just reinstalled them hand tight and it was simple to take apart the next time with a standard #2 Phillips for cleaning. I sliced 21 chicken breasts into 1/4 inch slices for jerky and it took less than three minutes and all came out perfect. As far as the other complaints-most are unfounded. Some scraps of meat will get behind the blade if the meat is fresh and soft like my chicken was. I've never had a slicer that didn't do that. Partially freeze the meat before slicing if you find that objectionable. The meat pusher is set too high and too far away from the blade at the factory. It is adjustable with a slight modification. There are several plastic washers that determine the distance from the blade to the pusher. Simply remove then one at a time and recheck the space until you get it right. The height is determined by a small plastic dowel behind the pusher. Just cut it off a tiny bit at a time until it suits you. Make sure that after your adjustment the pusher cannot come into contact with the blade even with a hard force. I found it easy to clean and other than the Chinenglish manual I have no issues with this slicer at all. If it had cost me 2500.00 or more like some of the commercial brands it would have only received 2 or 3 stars but for under 300.00 it gets a strong 5.

How to remove the cover plate to remove the blade
Our slicer arrived yesterday and we were slicing German meat today. This is one fantastic slicer for the price paid. $227.00. The biggest complaint that I have seen in the reviews is that it is hard to clean due to the cover plate and blade not coming off. The cover plate and blade do come off. HERES WHAT THE MANUAL DOES NOT COVER. In order to remove the cover plate you have to remove the long bolt (see photo) that has a medium black knob to unscrew it. Here’s the TRICKY PART. The first time doing this you have to use a flat head screw driver and PRY up a little between the plate and the blade. Be careful and don’t just try and do it all at once. You will need to go all around the plate to wiggle it loose. The reason the the plate won’t come off easy is because the manufacturer has put a little bit of glue on the nut holding it to the gear behind the plate once you break the glue seal and the cover plate is rocking back and forth when you press each side of the plate with your fingers replace the bolt back in halfway screwing it in then tap on the black knob to force the plate off(see photos) reassembly is extremely easy the next time you do this you won’t have to use a screwdriver. All you will need to do is tap the knob and the plate will come off. Just make sure you DONT SCREW THE BOLT IN ALL THE WAY before tapping hard. The other complaint that people had was the hex bolts to remove the blade when I took my plate off there were three Phillips head screws. Guess the manufacture was listening. This is a great slicer I have only used it for slicing hard Salami and baloney types of meat and it does a fantastic job on wafer thin slicing as well as thicker slices.

Excellent Slicer and I'm a Happy Camper!
Packaging was excellent for transport by UPS ground. Rugged and well engineered it protected the unit so that no damage was possible. Really good job.Unit arrived missing one M6x25 slotted countersunk head screw. Lowe's has it but missing this small part detracted from the buying experience. This is one of two screws & nuts that connects the protecting cover of the food carrier - basically a splash guard. The manual could use the work of an English speaking Technical writer. Clearly a Chinese product, the mechanical drawings are excellent as is the labeling of the components - however, the text of instructions, warnings and troubleshooting tables are difficult to comprehend unless you are very, very patient.Note that the instructions recommend loading meet for slicing at -5 C (23 F) for best results when slicing. While this is probably true for raw product it will not be true for prepared/bulk products. The idea here is that the colder the product, the more accurate the slice. Bulk meat stored in a crisper should be between 34 and 38 degrees F and should be fine.DO pay attention to the setup guide. This is where a native English speaker would have helped. There are few adjustments you can make - but each of them are critical to using the slicer safely and getting good results. Note that the blade sharpener assembly is installed backward ON PURPOSE. It is only put into operating position when you are sharpening a clean, properly adjusted blade.Commercial slicers are DANGEROUS - so unpack, setup and test carefully. Be especially careful when using this product for the second, third, etc time. You must always check the adjustments before use and always properly clean the slicer when complete. This works very nicely, I'm very happy with the purchase - AND I WAS NOT COMPENSATED or encouraged to say nice things. The moving parts require a small amount of food grade oil for easier operation. I used oilve oil sparingly and am very happy in operation
