If you have fished all of your life like I have you will have rods that are well used and in need of repair. GOOD REPAIR. This is the machine for you. Top quality and workmanship!!! I am so happy to finally have a wrap table system that works like a dream. Should have purchased years ago!! Good engineering lasts for decades!!!

Like having an extra hand when wrapping
I just finished wrapping a new fly rod and the CRB advanced wrapper made it so much easier than my first fly rod. My previous rod wraps were trolling or boat rods with fairly large diameter blanks. Starting a wrap and finishing one off is fairly easy, and the tension easy to control using the "thread between a book" method. I find the small diameter blanks of a fly rod much more challenging. The constant tension, easily adjusted thread position while winding, and the clamping pressure of the bungy rings on the blank in the stand to hold the work hands free, made it all so much easier. I'm looking forward to trying some intricate decorating wraps on a boat rod next.

Excellent quality

I so wanted a 5 star item.
Great idea, poor manufacturing/construction. Functionally I do give it 5 stars; it has evaporated all my frustration with home made stand and tensioning thread through a book. I am an aircraft mechanic, woodworker, and machinist. I value material, precision, and quality hardware.1. The adjustment knobs have a little nylon insert I had to tap to get them to turn freely.2. The bolts holding the rod holders are not true carriage bolts and rotatewhen turning the adjustment knob. Replaced.3. The screw eyelets for running the thread are very flimsy, and one was barely started at angle to the base.4. The rod holders need to be adjustable to a narrower dimension than possible , on occasion. The wide placement doesn’t provide support for flimsy rod tips.5. There is an extra rod holding arm provided. Why not just a couple of replacement fiberglass tensioners, obviously the Achilles heel of this unit.6. Oh yes, the instructions are incomplete, and there was no glue for the tension rod. ( doesn’t need any) . There is no diagramn for threading.
