Aluminum Ender 5 Direct Drive Extruder Conversion Kit Adapter Plate Compatible with DDB Extruder for Creality Ender-5 Ender 5 Pro 3D Printer Upgrade

Most of the kit worked as intended. the cable included just doesn't work though. the tubing with the kit feels very cheap so I didn't use it. the product also came with no documentation. The main mounting plate on the item though is great! very sturdy and has done the job well.

fitted ok one small gripe is that the extruder to microswiss hot end was slightly out of line but doubt this would make much difference. would have been ok if two of the holes were "slotted" to allow alignment, a job for later with some needle files; also moved the Spool feed to the top. Improved the feeding of the filament. I did use Bowden instead of the PTFE tubing supplied as I has spare lengths.

Overall I'm satisfied with this kit for the money, but still disappointed by it. Keep in mind, that it is about the same price as JUST the plate from other sellers, but has a few nice extras included - turns out they were all useless.1) The included motor cable is about 8" too short.2) Most of the included hardware is useless as you're just re-using the hardware from your existing carriage. The only thing I actually used was the standoffs to mount the hot-end to the carriage.3) They show pictures of this being mounted with a BMG, but this mod makes the bolts that come with the BMG too short - you'll need to order some M3-40mm bolts to go with this kit.4) The included piece of tubing is too short to be used with a BMG and the stock extruder. They should be a little longer for people to cut down to length - I'm betting if I was using the stock Creality extruder it would be the right length.Now all that being said, the main reason I bought this was for the plate itself, none of the issues were really a problem, it's just disappointing that this kit wasn't as well thought out as it appeared to be.This would be a REALLY excellent product if/when these issues are addressed, and even if it made the product a dollar or two more, it would still EASILY be my default recommendation for anybody looking to make this upgrade.

The screw mounts were tapped at an angle causing a the whole hotend to be at an angle. The blue tubing is PTFE, not capricorn.The plate itself was decent. I drilled some extra holes to mount the bmg extruder a bit lower and I now have a v6 hotend with bmg direct drive and bltouch.If you're not up for modifications to this plate, don't bother and spend a bit more money on something with better quality.
