Does this get hot underneath? E.g. could you cook with pot on floor or table without worry of burning the surface is it resting on

Can I cook fish, sausages, chicken,prawns & other poultry foods with this please?

Yes you can, I spray a little oil in pan to seal my meat before adding veg and stock for a hotpot. Also cooked several types of fish it's just like grilling it the only difference cutting portions to fit in the pan.

Can you fry eggs or chicken ?

Absolutely. I've made eggs, chicken, stir fries, crepe, vegetables, soup, and even pasta in the pot. The cool thing about it is that you can even have hotpot in it. Just make sure to use non-abrasive cooking tools like the provided silicone spatula. Worth investing as it's a saucepan, frying pan and rice cooker in 1 pot. And ooh! It cooked my rice faster than the rice cooker, est 10+ minutes and my rice were done :)
