Don’t Buy These
Please don’t buy these.I have four Staffordshire Bull Terriers, all of which destroy their chews within 5 mins because of their strong teeth. I bought the Nylabone, in the hope that they would last longer than the usual toys.If I was awarding stars, the Nylabone would get 5 as it’s lasted several months but, two of my dogs snapped their back teeth on the bone and required surgery.

Dogs love this.
My dogs love this. I purchased this one and the small one for my two dogs which are a 70kg Dogue de Bordeaux & 12kg Frenchie & both of them really enjoy having a good chew on this, the small one is VERY small & had to send it back but the company were amazing with the returns & refunded with no problems. As with all Nylabones, the two concerns I have is that it gets dirty quite quickly but the babies toys are put in a bowl of hot water with sterilising fluid so at least I know it’s sterile even if it still looks a little dirty. Secondly, the chew can get quite sharp & cause gum bleeding in addition to the sharp bits can come off & a few times my dogs have had to hack the bit of plastic. I do routinely try and cut the sharp bits down but it’s quite difficult. Despite this my dogs really enjoy these & they do provide a comfort outlet. I would just say to check it regularly & watch that your dog doesn’t become compulsive with it. Would purchase again, especially after the smooth returns/refund procedure.

Dogs seem to like chewing on this, the flavour must be nice! Long lasting & strong
I bought my dog one in 2019 & it's still in excellent shape & condition to say she chews it a lot.My parents have just rescued a 6 year old golden retriever who likes to chew an awful lot so I sent her one of these to get her chops around to save her destroying so many of her softer toys, she's even destroyed her rubber toys that are meant to be indestructible for dogs. This has lasted for her. So far so good! The only thing I would advise is to not leave your dog chewing this without your supervision. It could end up grounding your dog's teeth down? I'm not sure the material it's made of would allow this to occur, I'd just be overly cautious...

I'm prettty disappointed that it was so easy for her (she didn't ...
Disappointingly not very durable (nor large!).I bought this reduced to around £7 in the Black Friday Sales, I was a little apprehensive as the only size on sale was the X-Large and there were a lot of warnings about the importance of getting the right size for your dog. However, my dog is a Cocker Spaniel x Poodle 8 month old puppy weighing 19lbs - far from the bracket advertised for the X-Large size - and she has still managed to destroy the chew within a couple of weeks. I'm prettty disappointed that it was so easy for her (she didn't pay it much attention after all, the material came away within a few hours of giving it to her) to chew up.I'm also a little confused at why the X-Large is marketed at much larger dogs but was fine for my medium dog and didn't offer her much of a challenge in the way of destroying it!Surely it should be more durable to be aimed at larger dogs?My dog did seem to like it and enjoyed carrying it around with her for a couple of days but I don't think paying out the extra money for it to be durable paid off as it really didn't seem to last much longer than the cheap plastic toys I buy from Wilkos. In fact, I bought her a cheap £1.50 rubber tennis-sized ball from Wilkos the same day this arrived and the rubber ball managed to survive a week longer than the Nylabone chew.As another reviewer pointed out - when this toy is chewed, it gets really sharp and after noticing this and seeing it on other reviews, I have taken the toy off my dog. Had I have taken this off her as soon as it was sharp (I didn't because I assumed it was safe with it being 'durable'), the chew would have been in the bin after a couple of hours but it doesn't look to have damaged her mouth/gums in anyway fortunately. If anyone can recommend some toys/chews that are Cockerpoo-proof (I really don't know how she's getting through them all so quickly being a smaller dog!) then I'd really appreciate it!

Even the most extreme chewers can only get tiny slivers of the bone off. They last for years!
I've bought these for my dogs since I first saw them in a pet shop, at least 35 years ago! I've never been without alarge dog since then-or a pup who'll grow into a large doge & all of them have loved & love the taste as they can smell what I had just bought or now, what's just come in the post! My dog, 'Bentley' who's just had his 1st. birthday. He was so delighted that he had 2 new flavours, he went from one to the other & then brought 1 over to me & put it on my lap, stood back & wagged his tail madly, then took it away & did the same with the other new one-it seemed as though he as was thanking me! When I remarried after many years of being single my new husband, (worried about his dog) asked whether the sharp bits on the end of the bone, after months of being chewed would scratch their gums I told him that my dogs had never shown any signs & he's as confident in the bones as I am The only thing to remember is to throw them out, (or give it to a small dog) when they are soon going to be able to swallow it, none of mine have tried as they still want to chew them. I always give them a new bone first & then I swipe it to save them from 'feeling' as though they've been robbed, even they really had been & they'd really miss it. As our lovely dogs have got older, Vet's have commented on how good & young my dogs teeth have looked & I was once asked if I clean them, I smugly told him that I did! After all, I bought the bones that have cleaned their teeth so I wasn't, (totally) lying, was I?? (Hmm!?!) These particular bones are REALLY GREAT!
