Great flavor, excellent Japanese ramen.
This is a really tasty ramen. Was recommended by a video on YouTube and thought I’d try it being a huge ramen lover. Was not disappointed at all. Flavor was very good and use’s a powered flavor packet with a liquid added at the end. Had to use Google translator to read cooking directions but was very easy. Noodles come out nice with a good texture. I have bought this several times now and I’m not disappointed at all. Highly recommend.

Took a while for delivery from Japan, but worth the wait
noodles are not fried. takes 3 1/2 minutes to cook the ramen to perfect doneness. The broth is rich and flavorful and not salty. we added greens, soft boiled eggs, and some leftover braised shitake mushroom. Each pack contains 2 generous servings (I love ramen and would have been over stuffed eating both servings) The 2 individually wrapped bundles of ramen in each pack are NOT individually packed. In my current quest for ramen on Amazon, this is probably my 2nd favorite next to the high-end Ichiran product (which cost twice as much). So, given the cost, probably these aremy go-to for now. Takes 3 weeks for international shipping.

So much flavor!
I was worried that I would have a hard time finding some great ramen to make at home again when the last supplier disappeared from Amazon. This is really good stuff, and with some fresh ingredients you can make a very good bowl of noodles for yourself. I've been fortunate to have visited some great ramen places in the US, and in Japan, so I know what a good bowl is like. Coming from Japan it will take a little while to get it, but that is understandable.

Awesome stuff!
I've had two flavors of Marutai ramen now. This one was really awesome! They are worlds better than the convenience store ramen that we commonly find in the U.S. well worth trying. I try them unaltered first and then I add things to my liking with the second sachet of noodles. To this, I added fresh garlic and red pepper flake into the boiling water. Then I topped it with soft boiled egg, green onion, and sesame seeds. Delicious!

Almost restaurant quality broth, -1 star for the noodles
Hard to imagine such tasty broth from an instant noodle. Not as good as the best in the San Francisco/Los Angeles area, but it beats a lot of mediocre ramen places I've been to. The only thing I don't care for are the thin noodles, nothing at all like the thicker hand made ones favored in good ramen restaurants.

Good, but better and more cost-effective options are available to me locally
I lived in Japan and ate ramen regularly. I bought this, hoping that it would approach the flavor of "instant" ramen offerings in Japan, and the ramen I had in so many ramen shops throughout Japan. On the positive side, it is much tastier than the commonly found pucks of deep-fried noodles and their horrible "flavor packets". If I were living in parts of the country where there are no ramen shops at all, I would probably give this product 4 stars. However, at least in our area (Berkeley, CA and surroundings) multiple local stores and Asian supermarkets like Ranch 99 (which has locations in multiple states throughout the US), one can buy noodles and flavor packs that come from Honolulu. You get two servings of fresh noodles for under $5, with two packets of a broth base that is in paste form. To my taste, this comes even closer to Japanese ramen than the Marutai offering. In either case, you need to add vegetables, egg, meat, seaweed, or fish cakes or other things to round out the bowl of ramen. I prefer the fresh noodles. I would buy the Marutai product if I didn't have access to refrigeration, and wanted a longer shelf life. At home, I will either continue to buy the product from Hawaii, or go to a local branch of Ippudo, a Kyushu-based chain of ramen shops, or Kyushu Ramen that have just opened here in Berkeley.

Bought on a whim, will definitely purchase again
I bought this without knowing anything other than the amazon reviews and I was definitely pleasantly surprised. The packaging is japanese which might be a problem, but it's ramen so it's hard to mess up making this.I always try out a new brand with just the noodles and soup base to get the best impression of what I'm working with when I add eggs and veggies and stuff, so I have to say this ramen impressed me a lot.

RESTAURANT GRADE ramen at home
O...M...G.... after watching MASA (the Japanese guy/chef on Youtube channel) I cannot wait to jump right in and buy a pack....Finally it arrived yesterday! I don't know how the manufacturer did it but they NAIL IT! Taste exactly the same as the expensive tonkutsu ramen that you will get $10 to $15 a bowl at Japanese restaurant!!! So happy I found this product,.. the only concern is: I only wish it will come in 6 packs packaging!!! :)
