Well written. I know it’s designed for kids but just as suitable for adults as a user friendly introduction. As with all DK books, illustrations excellent and although some text is quite small this did not prove to be an issue.Good overview of main fossil types and their historical context.However, this is just an introduction and I’m sure most people will quickly graduate to something more detailed.

The author has gone to a lot of trouble with text and illustrations - all for nothing because the print (less tha n 1/16th of an inch high) is far too small to be readable. Sent it straight back.

This is a really good reference book, but is let down by the size of the text. It's a real struggle to read it even with reading glasses. I will be investing in a magnifying glass unfortunately. Not recommended for anyone with less than perfect eyesight.
