Not accurate *update
I tested 3 times in a row. Within seconds and got readings of 48 then 138 then 306. With that being said. I ordered a new meter. This one is not very accurate. Very easy to use and figure out. But accuracy is not there.UPDATE**Company has reached out and offered a full refund or a replacement device. Company is very professional and easy to work with !

bare bones but effective
simple to use, accurate, easy to read, inexpensive and readily available replacement strips, which require a tiny amount of blood, about half what other strips I've seen use. Highly recommend if you're just looking for a simple glucose monitor.

Simple to use
I bought this a few months ago to monitor my teen sons glucose. It has been great. He is able to use it on his own,its that simple. It keeps track of his daily average. The readings are fast. It comes with enough supplies to last awhile. It even came with the battery. The only thing i had to buy seperate was the little alchohol pads. The kit itself comes in a convienient zip up organizer bag. Its small enough he can tossin his backpack or I put it in my purse for him. The lancing device is also easy to use. I feel its a good design, although I really have nothing else to compare it to. It works for us and what we need.

Eas;y to use
This is a very easy to use blood glucose tester. There are enough minni needles and blood samplers to last for months without replenishing. And easy to replace batteries etc. the only reason it didn't get a full five stars is because the needle gun doesn't work well and barely punctured my finger even on the highest (deepest) puncture level. I just push the mini needle in to get that needed drop of blood without the device.

I think nearly every older adult today needs a glucose meter. This is one I can recommend.
I like this meter mainly because it is easy to use, reliable, and I think very affordable for what it does. The display is nice and easily readable. Mine came with 2 batteries (only 1 is needed), 100 testing strips and 100 lancets along with the automatic plunger. It also has a test solution to confirm the meter works correctly, and a zippered bag to keep everything together. The meter comes with software so you can upload the data to your computer, add notes, calculate averages, follow trends over time, etc. I use my meter and upload the data to my laptop every day. I then make adjustments in the foods I eat from my data log, and watch how I can reduce blood sugar spikes. There is something both satisfying and very educational about all of this. While I like the meter, there are a few issues that I don't like about the software. First is that I cannot erase data points in the meter itself. If you are playing around with it when you first get it (like I was) and you now want to erase the bad data from the good data, you can't do it (there is a way, but it involves resetting the meter). Now you can omit the bad data from entering into calculations in the software, but this is not the same as totally erasing the data. I just find it very annoying that I can't erase obviously bad data easily from the meter itself, or go back and reassign test solution data that was accidentally marked as general data. A second issue I have is that the software is very limited in what it can do. You really can't change any of the displays to perform custom calculations or make personalized plots of the data. I can move the data into another software package to do these things, but it is a hassle to do that. In any case, the software is free and it is helpful. But if you want more sophisticated analysis and graphing, you will need to use Excel or SPSS, or something similar. Most people will not need to analyze their blood glucose in such detail, but it is a shame the software is so limiting. I definitely recommend that you learn to use the free software to get the most from the meter.

Good, practical and reliable
We bought this product for my grandmother and it was wonderful, she loved it since it comes with its case all organized and is very practical for traveling or having it in the wallet since it does not take up much space. I totally recommend it, thank you 🙏🏻

Gave me a good baseline of my blood sugar in various scenarios
I do not have diabetes and I've never measured my blood sugar before so I came into this a noob. I couldn't get it to measure anything at first and I'm glad I started with the control solution instead of blood because I would have been pricking my finger for no reason. I was trying to smear the fluid onto the probe, instead of touching it to a ball of liquid and letting it wick it up. Once I figured out how to get it to read, it was easy to measure my blood sugar.I knew it wasn't going to be as accurate as a lab test, but I'm not shooting insulin and just needed a ballpark figure so it works great for my purposes. I took 3 measurements each reading, and averaged them. Why would a non diabetic get a bcm you might wonder? I wanted to get a baseline blood sugar to see what my fasting average was, how much my blood sugar spiked after meals and sugary foods, and how quickly it recovered. I used this to establish my 'normal' so that as i get older, I have something to compare it to in order to see if I'm losing my insulin sensitivity.Thankfully even after binging christmas cookies, my blood sugar never got above 120 at peak and quickly got back below 100, so all is well. It gave me a good piece of mind to know I don't have to worry about diabetes. And as long as I make healthy food choices, I won't have to worry about that kind of thing for decades.Worth it for piece of mind because diabetes is a silent killer, and it going undiagnosed can lead to so many other maladies. It would be tragic to have high blood sugar and not know it because you don't have symptoms.
