These are great filters but....
Wix filters are excellent but I was burned AGAIN by Amazon's vehicle filament guide. Never trust Amazon's Does This Fit Your Car feature, use Google to cross reference.

No bypass filter for typical Chevy V8 applications.
This is the "racing" wix filter with no internal bypass. If you have the bypass on your engine blocked and run this filter then all of the oil will be forced to be filtered all of the time. If you go this rout you will need to watch cold start oil pressures and consider using a lower weight oil. Also it would be a good idea to have your oil pressure sender tapped into a oil galley down stream of the filter. The small plug at the front of the engine just above the oil pan rail is a great place for a big block chevy as this is the galley for the main bearing farthest away from the oil pump. If your oil sender is down stream of the filter, if you notice any lowering in oil pressure it is a good indication the filter needs to be changed.
