Fun, Educational, and Well Made
My toddler absolutely loves this toy, and I love it because while she’s playing, she’s actually learning. It keeps her engaged and helps her practice important skills like color recognition, sorting, and even early counting in a fun, hands-on way. The quality is excellent. The pieces are sturdy, well made, and perfectly sized for little hands. The fruits and vegetables look realistic and have held their shape really well with regular play. I also love that this set grows with your child—from simple sorting for toddlers to imaginative play as they get older. Overall, this is a great educational toy that combines learning and play. Very durable, thoughtfully designed, and definitely worth it. Highly recommend for toddlers.

Excellent quality and nice variety of play fruit / veggies - great for home, daycare and schools
Learning Resources has done a nice job of combining a learning opportunity (colors, sorting, fruit/veggie identification) with a wonderful set of play food that will work great in your child's play kitchen. The set contains 5 plastic "farmer's market" bushel baskets with 25 pieces of play food (5 of each color). I mainly selected this item because I was looking to add additional fruits and veggies to our play food stash. The teaching opportunities with this set are just an added bonus for me. There's a nice variety of play food which includes some you don't typically see in other play food sets (eggplant, cucumber, pumpkin, 3 different colors of pepper, yellow apple, peach, plum). Like all Learning Resources play food, the quality is amazing. As an early childhood teacher and a mama, I've seen my fair share of plastic play food and I did a lot of comparison shopping before I purchased the play food for our play kitchen. Unlike others, this food is well sized, very detailed and made of soft plastic (it has a little give if you press it). Take a look at my photos and you can see some side by side comparisons of "other" play food (left) vs. the Learning Resources food (right). You'll see from the picture that the Learning Resources food is much more realistic looking. To get a sense of size, I've also included a picture of the tomato and orange pepper on our play kitchen's counter (the Ikea duktig). Another nice touch is that the sorting baskets have a color label on the outside and inside of the basket. It's a thoughtful detail and helps children who may be looking down into the basket when they're sorting. While I'm using this in my home, given that the food is so realistic looking and durable and there are lots of learning opportunities with the set, it would make a great addition to a childcare/school setting as well. ** I purchased this product at full price for use in our home. Great Quality
These are adorable and great quality. They aren’t cheap plastic, they have more of a real feel to them. My 18 month old got them for Christmas and absolutely loves them. Great for sorting by color and also naming a food and having her point to it.

Fruit sorting
My son loves this fruit sorting toy with buckets! The quality is really nice and sturdy, and the pieces are bright and fun to play with. It keeps him busy while helping him learn colors and sorting. Great for both play and learning. They are safe enough for the baby too. Not all the fruit is shown in the picture and video.

Very good learning tool for little ones
My 2 year old daughter really enjoys playing with this fruits and vegetables set. She already knew the colors of the rainbow, but sorting into colors was not something she was very familiar with. After 15 minutes she was sorting all the colors into their correct color basket. It’s a great tool for getting familiar with the different types of fruits and vegetables as well. The pieces are good quality and nicely detailed. There’s a softness to them, they’re not hard solid plastic. The buckets are super cute.

Great set of food once past the initial smell
This set of play food looks great and appears to be very sturdy. It's a nice variety of fruits and vegetables, and the baskets are good for sorting and cute storage. I know some complained about the duplicates - 3 different color peppers, 2 different color apples, 2 different color sets of grapes - but that's accurate. That's what you see when you walk through the produce aisle at the grocery store. I love the inclusion of the pumpkin and the eggplant - 2 foods that my child does not see in our house too often. They are made of sturdy plastic with a little give, so they probably won't crack. The colors are nice and vibrant as well. My only complaint, which has been mentioned by several other reviewers, is the initial smell. Considering the pieces are individually wrapped in plastic and packed in a box, it's not too surprising that there would be some kind of smell when finally opened. I wiped all of the pieces down and let them air out for about 48 hours before giving them to my daughter. Now they are fine. I was considering wooden play food, but I was scared that the paint might start to chip. Loose paint chips and potential splinters concern me a little more than a slight plastic smell that dissipates over time. My child is no longer putting everything in the mouth all the time, but there are still moments. As long as your child isn't going to gnaw on the pieces, then I would say this is a great set. If your child is going to use them as teethers, then you may want to look at something else.

Well made toys
The kiddos in my kindergarten classroom love pretending and sorting with these cute fruit baskets. I’ve had them for almost one school year and they are showing no wear and tear.
