This works good for scraping all kinds of algae off the glass. However, if you have any sand at all you run the risk of picking some of it up and scratching the glass if you use the Velcro side. No matter how careful you are there's a pretty good possibility it'll happen eventually. Some sand is magnetic and you must causiously avoid kicking it up and grabbing it while cleaning. However, if you are careful about it this is a quick and easy product to use! For what it cost, it will last years!

So I was very surprised when I received this product as this item is super tiny. I have it on an innovative marine 20 gallon long saltwater aquarium, but it works very very well at cleaning the glass and getting the algae off. You may think you have a good glass cleaner, you do not. For whatever reason you are looking at this, just stop and add to cart. Once you get it and use it for the first time you will realize that the cleaner you've been using is basically garbage. 40 years of having saltwater, freshwater, multiple tanks, fish, plants, reef, etc.... I've used a lot of glass cleaners. Magfloat was was my goto for years. I have a nano reef now, and this seemed like a good size. At first the price seemed steep for a glass cleaner. However after using it, the cost is justified. I'll be using these on all my tanks now.

It works great! It slides around nicely, scares the fish but it’s cute when she flares at it anyhow.

This little guy would be the perfect flipper for my nano tank, which is why I'm so disappointed that both the ones I've gotten - the second as a replacement for the first - have had the rim that basically gives you any sort of grip on the outside half of this scrubber had come broken off of both in a thin black plastic ring. I noticed, after realizing that BOTH the little scrubbers had this problem, that the plastic packaging they come in was work to the point that it had holes in it right over this rim, which is probably the most fragile part of the whole thing but has the misfortune also to be the most protuberant. I would guess that they were all processed through some sort of machinery that crushed them/wore through the plastic with friction trying to get things from point A to point B. Which STINKS. I've heard flipper praised all over the place, which is why I was willing to pay for it over a less-well-known brand, but this product, at least, suggests they don't live up to their own good press. This is a lot more low profile than even the next smallest option, which matters for my small tank and, frankly, my branding allergy. I'm really sad it didn't work out - but I also couldn't recommend this product to anyone else knowing that there's a high likelihood they've all been similarly broken/rendered defective.

love the size. It's smaller than expected but for a 10 gallon, I love it. It does not disturb my tank inhabitants when used. Magnets are super powerful. I purchased another from a competitor and it was slightly bigger and the magnet was so weak. This is awesome, would recommend!
