Impressive High-end Dupe
I'm not much of loose powder user when it comes to my usual makeup routine, however, this is a great powder to set my foundation, since I have combination skin so the only place that gets oily is my T-zone. NYC works well to prevent any shine or oil from coming through on my face. I purchased in translucent and there is no white cast to my skin, it just gives it a nice airbrushed finished when used with a fluffy face brush.I have to say I was quite impressed with how much better my foundation looked after using this powder even hours later. I highly recommend buying for the quality at such a low price. Also there is no fragrance to this product and I did not have any irritation from using it on my skin and I have sensitive skin.Tip: People may complain that the powder is messy and that it gets everywhere when it is opened but the best way to combat that is to not remove the adhesive cover but to poke out a handful of holes to let a controlled amount powder out with a needle/pin so you get a little bit of powder on the brush at a time.

This is my favorite powder.
This is my favorite powder. I have used it for years. My skin is very light in color, and I have a difficult time finding powder that doesn't make my skin look orange. The translucent is perfect for me. It has a very light amount of color to it. It is just enough color so that I am not applying white powder to my face. I apply my foundation, and then I sweep a layer of powder on over it with a fluffy brush. I have never had a reaction to this powder even though I do tend to have several allergies to other cosmetics. I don't usually have to reapply it during the day. Occasionally during the summer I will have to apply it a second time if it is a very humid day, but otherwise not. I find this product to be just as good as the much more expensive powders at the cosmetics counter in the department stores.

Very Impressed
I give this 4 stars because while I really do think it's a great setting powder for such an affordable price, I hate losing any bit of good product due to packaging- in this case the sifter is overly generous when dispersing product, meaning it can all spill out if you aren't careful. I poured a bit too much out when using it for the first time, and im still trying to use that up so it doesn't spill every time I open or close it.I used to look down at this brand and would never try it, but im really glad I found this powder when I needed a really cheap option.--'Quality? Easily as good as or better than other drugstore brands. Its perfect for baking, but im pale and on anyone tan or with deep skin, Translucent might leave a white cast if not used very sparingly.Best way to use this powder;Roll onto face with powder puff, pushing into skin.Kicking the excess powder off with large powder brush.Finish your makeup however you like, and Enjoy.Im sure there are high end brands that would blow this out of the water, but as far as drugstore, and affordable goes, this is a great loose powder at a fraction of the cost.

the best translucent, loose face powder that I've ever used
Other than the old Coty Airspun powder that I used many years ago, this is, hands down, the best translucent, loose face powder that I've ever used. I've introduced it to lots of my friends, and what they've all said is that they're amazed at how beautifully it works for all shades of ethnic complexions as well as non-ethnic skin tones. The price is phenomenal for a product this good, and, at these prices, I recommend stocking up so that you never run out.The only thing I've not yet figured out is now to store it when I travel so that it doesn't spill out into the container's cover and make a big, powdery mess when I open it. Other than that, I'm absolutely delighted and will continue to recommend it to everyone and anyone interested in a good quality loose powder. (It's amazing how wonderful makeup looks when a light dusting of translucent powder finishes you off!)

blends well and its not cakey, a little goes a long way.
Im a dark skin jamaican girl and im like caramel slightly Hershey and I took a chance with using this and after my concealer and foundation I use this to set everything before my setting spray and its not ashy at all doesnt make my face all caked up. You don't need alot to get that soft blurred look and it blends very well. Now I see people talk about how messy it is. It came in good condition and yess it is messy but if you actually take the time to carefully use it you wont make that big of a mess. And its soo light weight on your face, and again does not look ashy it got on my clothes and sheet but I just brush it off with my hands, and there everything was fine so im not an expert but I believe with most loose powders u might get a little mess. Just use with caution people dont bad mouth the product because your not careful. Anyway its amazing, especially for my darker skin.

Not horrible, but not great
I have some scars that I've been covering up with makeup, and I needed a new setting powder. I was using the setting powder from Dermablend, but it's pricey (~$25), and I didn't want to spend that much again so I decided to try this one because of the low price. It's not bad. When I purchased this NYX setting powder, it said it was a translucent powder, so I expected it to be white like the Dermablend one is. While this powder isn't dark, it does have a slight pigment. It works well for keeping my makeup in place, but it's quite messy. Also, the applicator that the powder comes with is thin and insubstantial, and basically useless. You definitely need a brush to apply this. I probably won't buy this setting powder again, but for the price I paid, it really isn't all that bad.
