Very good deal and quality product.
Used to deaden the horrible sounding vibrations on a plastic rear deck with lots of nooks and cranies. Worked perfectly, adhesive worked perfectly, could cut easily. Once it cooked in the sun for a couple of hours it got even better!! It does have a light odor that is the nature of the chemicals that make up the item. Nothing that won't dissipate, I am sensitive to smells/fragrance and this was a low odor product once I got around to install it. I had aired it out for several days prior to install.I would recommend building a minimum of two layers for problem areas. I was able to cover my rear deck (buick park ave) about 80%+ covered with 2 layers and have one and one half sheet still left of the 10square foot pack. The black coating on the aluminum layer does not come off easily, I was not able to scratch it off during the install and flatting procedure. Very happy with results and the ability to cut with scissors to quickly install since there was leading edges around all 4 sides to be able to peal off the sheets without ruining part of the panel you are holding trying to pick it off.Product was installed 7-22-17 so if something changes, which I doubt from reviews this stuff just won't release like other sound attenuation material adhesives that fall off in the heat, I will update. The fact it worked better after cooking in the sun speaks that it is pry really stuck on now and I don't expect any failures. The seller was very quick and thorough in their responses. Obviously passionate about their work and product. At this point I would totally recommend this product over more expensive competitors.

The hype is correct, this stuff is awesome!
I acquired samples from a few popular manufacturers of their sound deadening products ranging from Second skins 40 mill Damplifier product to asphalt based 110 mill thick and 80 mill thick butyl. I applied these samples to 2.5" x 6" heavy gauge steel clips I got from a lumber yard and hung them from wire in my garage. After striking each one with a hammer to hear for myself which one was more effective I was blow away by how much more effective this thin butyl CLD product was. I thought the 40 mill thickness was going to be its weakness and I was wrong. It was by far the most effective one at reducing the vibrations and ping after my hammer struck each sample. I was a skeptic but now I'm a believer that Second Skins Damplifier is extremely effective at doing what they claim it does. If you're going to go through the trouble of spending your weekend taking your interior apart than don't skimp on the product and get the best one for your money. I will be installing this in my brand new CX5 for sure. I also want to say the quality of this product is excellent. The aluminum constraining layer was by far the thickest of them all and it actually feels like real aluminum (some were questionable). It's also light, which for me is important. BTW I only covered 40% of the surface area of the clip and I feel this is more than enough to do the job. Any more than 40% coverage is not necessary and won't give you much benefit in return.

Great to use for noise reduction in cars.
Bought this to reduce noise in a Honda Element. Easy to work with, bought the 1mm thickness & it did the job of reducing that tinny sound in the doors & roof. My son used this on his Element & recommended it. It’s a little more expensive but an excellent product.

Best deadener found so far
I wanted to get something that would deaden sound and not absorb it. Also, wanted something that did not stink so bad that it gave you a headache! This did just the trick! Hard to take off if you have to move it which is good, easy to cut and the tinniest smell that goes away in about a day. Used for back of open baffle speakers and the covers of both DVD and CD players. If needed, would not hesitate to buy again!

Excellent deadener for the price
Applied this to a mid size sport sedan under hoods, inside and outside door panels, and truck bottom / wheel well, 36 sqft used. The interior noise volume went down, and the deep tone of exhaust remains.Pros:1. Light weight2. Easy to apply (adhesive but not over sticky)3. No silver foil with trademark printed - plain black coated foil instead. This is a personal preference, but we do not see it most of time.Cons:Shipping charge is high as second skin is only directly sold by manufacturer. Quoted UPS package same as seller and it cost 32%. My company contracted account cost about one third. This stuff offers the best quality price ratio for entry to mid level luxury cars (e.g., Infiniti G/Q, BMW 3/5, Acura MDX).For more affordable products dynamat is a good option (e.g., accord, Golf)For higher end autos, e.g., Porsche, Rockford fosgate makes better quality deadener at above twice the price. Going to some German sellers (like amazon.de) you can get even better once at a porsche level price. If you owns a Ferrari or McLaren or a Speedster, please leave it to a pro shop and pick it up later.
