My Daddy's In Jail

Cute Book, Awesome Illustrations. However, there's so much going on in the book it's kind of hard to follow. The names are weird and I feel like it's so busy, that it takes away from the message. This is the only book I was able to find geared for children when a parent is in Jail. We are a white, middle class working family from Maine with a stepdad in jail for an OUI charge. My sons loved finding the little guy hidden on every page of the book! Overall, I recommend this book. God Bless!

This book was all over the place. Didn’t explain anything like I hoped it would. The only thing that he could follow was the ‘Where’s Waldo’ game on every page

Helps children dealing with this situation!

I was looking for a clear and simple message but this book goes in a lot of different directions and is hard to follow. Love this topic since it impacts so many kids. A little disappointed.

Not as good as I expected.

This book is very busy, but good. I think for some students it may be overwhelming. It is a great asset in my collection for helping children.

Absolutely loved the illustrations and the message in this story. Being a sponsor to two children with there father in jail, I was looking for a book that they could share with their friends to help them with telling their story and this was the perfect choice. The author also kept the children engaged with this book with the search and find! 5 stars, well done!

Fun chat along book using cartoon characters rather than people so it’s more playful.

Excellent book to assist children to understand

I felt super great after reading this. It has such a beautiful and strong lesson. I wish the best to all the prisoners and to all the kids whose parents are in jail. Everyone can change.

Perfect resource for any child who is impacted by an event like an arrest/incarceration. Also a very Interesting story behind the author/illustrator as well!
