Great performance + value for money
As a victim of kids who step on their earphone wires and tug them up by accident, only to cleanly decapitate the earbud from its wire, we were looking for durable over the ear headphones, preferably with a decent mic and not too expensive. We got 3 of these on sale, ₹498 for black and ₹699 for blue from Appario Retail. The price seems to vary wildly between on-sale price and the MRP, and I've actually seen this at times listed at the full MRP of ₹1799. We would've picked white or burgundy, but it seems those are being sold by third party sellers, and the reviews for those units are bad. The packaging was quite dinged up for 2 out of 3 of these, one of them had clear tape to hold the box together, and another had the clear plastic packaging unsealed at one end. That said, on closer examination, all of them seemed to have been unopened, and none of actual units were damaged. We're using these for online classes, Youtube and gaming on tablets, practicing on a digital keyboard/piano and gaming and watching movies on a PC. These have a 3.5mm TRRS jack, so a splitter is needed to use it with a PC (TRRS female to 2 TRS male) or digital keyboard / piano (TRS male to 2 TRS female). The headband has a matte plastic finish and looks good. It comprises of 3 sandwiched layers which makes this both durable and flexible. It's extendable and can be used by both young children as well as adults. The cups are medium sized, therefore not too large for children, and not too small for adults and sit comfortably without causing pain even after prolonged use. The cups are well cushioned (regular, soft foam) and the protein leather seems a lot better than the ones on much more expensive headsets (too soft, disintegrates within a year) and cheap headsets (too stiff, disintegrates within a year). I'd guess all protein leather disintegrates within a year with enough abuse, but these are supple yet not too soft, and also not too stiff. The plastic on the folding arm of the headband that holds the ear cups, though also matte, are slightly shinier than the rest of the parts, and this does have some undulations on the surface visible because of this. The performance of the drivers is what seals the deal for these headphones. The 32mm drivers provide sufficient bass to have you turning the volume down to 60-80% and the clarity on the mids and highs are good enough that most audiophiles wouldn't complain too much about. The sound is muddier compared to reference headphones due to the bass being boosted, but like photos on iphones that are inaccurate yet very pleasant to look at, these sound very good. I listen to lossless music on these and it sounds good, instrumentation comes through clearly, and the sound stage isn't anything to complain about. If you're an audiophile purist, you're not really checking these out anyway. If you're a basshead, you will be let down. The mic is clear, definitely not noise cancelling, and nothing to write home about. It works perfectly fine with Teams, Meet, Zoom, Discord and most in-game voice chat without that hiss being noticeable. Like most mobile set mics it does help to loop the wire so that it is closer to your mouth. What this does offer is an above average performing set of headphones for everyone, that can fold down for easy packing while travelling, that is extremely light on the wallet, when on sale.

Sonido Regular-malo
